X-ray or body scan prior to liposuction or tummy tuck (visceral vs. subcutaneous fat)?
Visceral vs. subcutaneous fat.
Feb 9, 2020
Thank you for your question. You are correct in understanding that body contouring can really only treat subcutaneous fat. Visceral fat is best treated with diet, exercise and a healthy lifestyle. You do not need an expensive test to determine which type of fat you have. An experienced board certified plastic surgeon should easily be able to tell you this on exam. They should also be able to discuss realistic outcomes for any procedure you may desire. Hope…
Can liposuction surgery remove lipomas and love handles?
Lipoma and love handles.
Feb 9, 2020
Thank you for your question. Liposuction is an excellent way to help shrink love handles. A lipoma, which is a well defined fatty “tumor”, is best treated with surgical excision. It is best to visit a board certified plastic surgeon who can accurately diagnose your problem and offer you options for treatment.
Hard areas after lipo, help? This Thursday will be 7 weeks post op.
Hard areas after liposuction
Feb 9, 2020
Thank you for your inquiry. Hard areas after liposuction are completely normal. These are just areas of extra swelling that take time to resolve. Your best treatments for these are continued use of your garment as well as massage. I generally tell my patients that areas such as these may persist for up to 6 months. If you still have issues of contour irregularities after 6 months, you may need a little touch up of the liposuction. Hope…

70 lbs weight loss
Feb 2, 2020
Thank you for your question. Based on your photographs, you do look like you would be an acceptable candidate for Bodytite. Whenever someone has lost that much weight I tend to find that a tummy tuck will produce better results. However, if you plan to have children in the near future, I think Bodytite would be better for you at this time and should result in some improvement. Not counting your breast procedure, the downtime for…
Is the skin tightening immediate or gradual following BodyTite without lipo?
skin tightening
Feb 2, 2020
Thank you for your question. There is a certain degree of skin tightening that is observed immediately after a Bodytite procedure. However, the results will continue to improve over the next six months. I believe it works even better if one also adds Morpheus microneedling to the procedure. Generally, I have my patients wear a garment for 6 weeks following the procedure. Hope that helps.
