Breast implants price
The price of breast implants for augmentation procedure
A breast augmentation procedure has several costs involved. Typically this procedure is performed in an operating room and requires anesthesia, which have a cost associated with those services. The implants and surgeon’s fees are another cost.
Here in central Texas, the total price of this procedure varies from $4,600 to $7,000 depending on a number of factors. It is most important that you choose a ABPS Board Certified Plastic Surgeon and feel that you communicate well with this individual.
Communication with the surgeon and staff is extremely important. Also, having realistic expectations and being able to communicate this effectively will help to ensure a positive outcome. (Rocco C. Piazza, MD, Austin Plastic Surgeon)
Breast augmentation prices vary by surgeon and location
Like most services, breast augmentation prices vary by surgeon and location. The total price can range anywhere from $4,500 to $14,000. Be sure when you are comparing costs that you understand the TOTAL cost, which means: surgeon’s fee, implant cost, facility fee and anesthesia fee.
One factor is whether you choose saline or silicone gel implants (silicone implants are more expensive). Please don’t fly to South America for “bargain” prices to pay less than the costs listed above. I strongly encourage you to find a trustworthy and reputable board certified plastic surgeon who is located within a reasonable driving distance from your home.
Saving a few hundred dollars will not be very satisfying if you need to meet with your plastic surgeon and it is inconvenient to get to the office. (James N. Romanelli, MD, FACS, Long Island Plastic Surgeon)
Breast Implant Pricing Depends on Type of Implants and Where You Live
When a breast augmentation is performed, there are usually three separate components to the price. The first component is the surgeon’s fee, the second is the facility fee, which pays for the use of the operating room, and the third is the purchase of the implants.
The fees for these components vary across the country. Silicone implants are more costly than saline implants. Therefore, a breast augmentation utilizing silicone implants would be more expensive than an augmentation performed with saline implants. All of these fees vary across the country. The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery indicates that the average surgeon fee for a silicone breast augmentation is $3,694.
The average surgeon’s fee for an operation utilizing saline implants is $3,308. This price does not include the purchase of the implants nor does it include the anesthesia or the facility fee. Package prices for a breast augmentation may vary from $3,800 up to $12,000. It’s very important when considering any type of plastic surgery to know the background and credentials of the surgeon. It is also very important to know the accreditation of the surgical facility in which the procedure is going to be performed.
Usually, there will be a higher cost if the anesthesia is provided by an M.D. anesthesiologist.
That would be in contrast to a similar procedure whereby the anesthesia is provided by a nurse anesthetist.
The total package price for a breast augmentation can vary across the country from $4,000 to $15,000. (John J. Edney, MD, Omaha Plastic Surgeon)
Less than a few years ago!
Breast augmentation surgery has pretty much become a commodity, at least in NYC so be careful of outliers in either direction. If someone seems too affordable than it is possible the price does not include implants or anesthesia. All Plastic Surgeons I know will give patients itemized estimates pre op so it is very clear what the procedure will cost. I would say a routine aug with saline implants should cost around $8,000 all in plus or minus $1,000. (Joshua B. Hyman, MD, New York Plastic Surgeon)
Breast implant price
This number can vary widely. Most of it depends on the price that is out of the plastic surgeon’s hands, (i.e.; Operating room fee, Anesthesiologist fee, cost of implants, etc;)
Please be careful and ask questions of your Board Certified Plastic Surgeon. Cheap becomes VERY expensive if there is a complication. Don’t let the cost be your number one concern. See a few Plastic Surgeons, and then make your decision. (Jeffrey Roth, MD, Las Vegas Plastic Surgeon)
