Breast implants in Atlanta provide excellent, reproducible and safe results. There is no other procedure that can say the same.

Breast augmentation with the patients own fat is a very exciting concept because it avoids the long term issues associated with implants and improves the area from which the fat is harvested.

Having said that, only one cup size enlargement is possible and there are both cosmetic issues (irregular contours) and cancer issues (may interfere with mammography). The BRAVA device uses suction cups to enlarge breasts and may provide small improvements.

The downside is that you have to wear the uncomfortable device every night for weeks. The long term effects are not well known. This has limited the popularity of the BRAVA system.

For now, breast implants are the only way to go and for most patients the benefits far outweight the problems associated with the implants in Atlanta.

Encapsulated versus “Never Dropped”

You may actually have two processes going on here. If the implant was high and never dropped, either you had an immediate capsule or need more release inferiorly (ie, muscle release if you are submuscular).

Since the other side is firm as well, sounds as though surgery is probably your best option.

Favorable changes might be complete capsulectomy, textured implants, and conversion to a sub-muscular position if they were originally placed sub-glandularly.

Saline vs silicone

In never try to “push” my patients into one or the other implant, because inevitably they will be unhappy in the long run. I do discuss the pros and cons. I think in most cases silicone will feel more natural.
Saline are easier to detect when they rupture and are easier to insert, and easier to adjust volume differences. The saline also have potential palpable valves.

No one can answer this question but you. I can tell you that in my experience patients who have health concerns over the long run are psychologically better off with saline. Here is an analogy: Many people have a fear of flying and they refuse to take a plane.

They will travel by any other means just so they don’t have to worry about a plane crash. It may be less convenient to take the bus or the train but they feel pshychologically much better doing that.
The same goes for gel implants in Atlanta. They are mucg nicer and give great results but if you are worrying about them all the time it’s just not worth it.

Non Augmented Look

If you go from an A to a Full C or D cup you are going to look augmented. Use of the super highly cohesive gel implants may be a good option for you to avoid as much upper pole fullness.

I would browse some before and after galleries and print out what you are envisioning for your result and show them to your surgeon. He or she can then tell you if this is a realistic goal for you given your starting point.
In your case a shaped gummy bear style implant might very well meet your needs. These implants are more full on the bottom and excellent at giving the breast a more natural slope and shape.

Talk with a plastic surgeon in your area to learn more

Its simply that the implant will tend to give you more upper pole projection and less in the lower pole. I’m sure you’ll look great but “non augmented”…probably not.

Breast implants

I agree that you are a perfect candidate for a shaped implant. I am not sure that you can accomplish a D cup, but the result can look great. If you have the chance, try sizers on so that you can see what result you will achieve with different size implants ahead of time.

Natural Looking Breasts with Breast Implants

I think that you can get natural looking breasts with the standard round gel implants in most women. However, if you want a truly sloped breast, than you can try the shaped implants in Atlanta. In the 28 years I have been doing Breast Augmentation in private practice it has not been my experience that the majority of the women when they say natural actually mean sloping.

Plus sized breast implants

There is no reason that a plus sized woman cannot have breast implants. I would utilize saline implants more often in situations where a larger implant is necessary. A consult is necessary to determine the best size for you.

Breast Implants in Plus Size Woman

Absolutely! There is no contraindication to breast implants if you are plus-size. You will want to choose an experienced surgeon to consult with however as the main issue is implant sizing required to make an aesthetic difference.

Can a plus sized woman get breast implants?

You absolutely can have a breast augmentation regardless of shape or size. This can be wondeful opportunity to help with shape or fugure, even clothing options.
Of course a plus sized woman can get breast implants! What is important is getting the right size and shape implant to fit your figure. Be sure and see a surgeon certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery who has a practice devoted to cosmetic surgery of the breast.

Cohesive implants

Cohesive gel implants in Atlanta are available for use by all plastic surgeons in the US. I presume that you mean, “form-stable” cohesive gel implants in Atlanta which have a firmer silicone gel and are being studied for safety and complication rates in the US, currently.

The biggest problem with leaving the country for surgery is follow up and dealing with potential complications which can be very costly. You have no legal standing with this type of physician and insuring their credentials is almost impossible.
Pleae beware of leaving the country for surgery.

Breast augmentation with cohesive silicone is done in United States

I know many excellent doctors in Brazil and personally would feel safe having surgery there.

However, you have to realize that if you have a complication, you are going to incur additional expenses that may be difficult to manage if your Brazilian surgeon is going to take care of you.

Unlikely to occur but something to consider. More importantly, these implants are available in the United States through plastic surgeons who are participating in the FDA approved studies. For the Allergan Style 410 silicone implant there are 2 studies and one of the studies allows the use of the implant in primary augmentation.

Sports bra after breast augmentation

Your surgeon may be wanting to influence the decent of the implants within the breasts over the first six months after surgery as it usually takes several months for the breasts to settle out. If the bra is uncomfortable I would revisit with your surgeon to see if there are other options including breast massage.

Otherwise, I would recommend following your surgeon’s instructions and follow-up.

Allow breast implants to soften and settle

Time is on your side, as softening and settling will happen. Give at least one month, and if size or shape is still an issue, further considerations could be undertaken
Swelling after Breast Augmentation can make results seem huge

Hang in there! You are only a week out from surgery. Swelling can sometimes make your size seem huge. It is not uncommon to have patients who thought they were huge at one week, come back at 3 months perfectly happy with their size.

I would tell you that it is common to question having had surgery and to feel like you want them out. However, you owe it to yourself to see what you actually look like after all the swelling has gone down.

In a very fit woman who has not had kids, this may take at least 2 months. So talk to your doctors about what measures you can take to reduce swelling. We advise patients to take Arnica, use Arnica gel, and use other methods to help with swelling after surgery.
