How do I know if my Dental Implant fell out?

Good question. Patients often feel this way. The implant is placed in the bone and usually has the gum stitched over it so it will feel the same as it does when you came in before the surgery. You would know if it fell out because you would have a screw in your mouth. It is very rare for implants to fall out. Sometimes the healing abutment can come out and just needs to be retightened.

Its hard to tell from the photos if you have what is called a healing abutment or a cover screw. If the doctor placed a cover screw, the gums would be stitched over the top and you would have to wait a few months before it can be “uncovered.” If there is a healing abutment, this is meant to be seen during the healing process and starts to form the shape of the gums. If the doctor did place a cover screw and the implant was supposed to be submerged, then I would have someone look at it…

Just to add to all the answers here. The longevity of the whitening results mostly depends on your diet and oral hygiene habits. After achieving the desired whitening result, you don't really need to do whitening again for up to a year, but based on your personal biology, diet and hygiene the results may vary, no matter what whitening system you use.

The reason that the pain medication is not prescribed is that the pain, or intense sensitivity is experienced by only a few patients out of many, who undergo a zoom teeth whitening. And prescribing a strong pain medication to everybody "just in case" is not something that any doctor will ever sign his name under :).

And reason number two would be the extra pre-whitening appointment in order to prescribe it before the procedure so that the patient doesn't feel any pain…
