Doctors

Kent V. Hasen, MD

Statement: Dr. Kent V. Hasen, MD, is a board-certified plastic surgeon based in Naples, Florida. “For me, plastic surgery is more than a profession—it’s personal,” says Dr. Hasen. “I strive each day to better the lives of my patients, who are making the positive choice to look and feel their very best.”

He received his MD from Cornell University Medical College in upstate New York. While attaining his medical degree, a family crisis inspired him to pursue plastic surgery as his specialty. “At the time I started medical school at Cornell, my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer,” says Dr. Hasen. “She was so frightened by the thought of the removal of her breast that she lacked the strength to proceed with the mastectomy—until she met with her plastic surgeon, who allayed her fears by describing how he could reconstruct her breast and make her feel whole again.”

He completed an internship and residency in General Surgery at Northwestern University McGaw Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois, followed by a residency in Plastic Surgery, also at Northwestern University. He then completed a fellowship in Cosmetic Surgery at Plastic Surgery Associates in Miami, Florida.

As the founder of the Aesthetic Plastic Surgery & Med Spa of Naples, Dr. Hasen is dedicated to making patients feel special and genuinely cared for. “We are unique in our area because of the concierge level of care we provide all patients,” says Dr. Hasen. “We have a modern but comfortable office that rivals any plastic surgery office in the country in its elegance and beauty. The practice is full service, with a medical spa, lasers, injections, massage, spray tanning, minimally invasive procedures, and a fully accredited surgical suite with overnight accommodations.”

Dr. Hasen is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and a member of both the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery and the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. He is the recipient of numerous awards and honors, including Castle Connolly Top Doctor since 2013, Vitals Top 10 Doctor in 2014, and a Southwest Florida Choice Awards for 2012–2013 and 2015–2016.

“Being able to improve both form and function is the wonderful part of plastic surgery,” says Dr. Hasen. “With the advent of aesthetic medicine, I most love the variety of surgeries and noninvasive procedures that can be done each day from head to toe.”

How do you decide if you need lipo, mini tummy tuck or full tummy tuck with muscle repair plus lipo?
Deciding between lipo, mini tummy tuck or full tummy tuck
Jul 27, 2020
You ask a very common question that many women ask especially after having children. When pregnant and giving birth, the abdominal muscles can get stretched apart to the point that they will not come back together. In that instance, a muscle repair is needed. This can be done with both a mini tummy tuck and full tummy tuck. However, it is rare that a patient is truly a good candidate for a mini tummy tuck because in that operation very little skin is removed. Thus, if you have moderate…
Can getting labia removed that is extremely close to your clitoris/clitoral hood cause nerve damage/l
Labiaplasty is Unlikely to cause Nerve Damage to Clitoris
May 18, 2020
This is not a silly question.  In fact, it is a common one and an important one to ask your surgeon.  As with any surgery, there are risks of complications like decreased sensation, but in the right hands and with excellent knowledge of the anatomy, the risk is quite low.  The excess skin of the labia near the clitoral hood is common.  Make sure the surgeon you go with has vast experience with happy patients after labiaplasty.
Would I be able to get a tummy tuck even with my previous c-sections?
Tummy Tuck after C-Sections
Apr 21, 2020
Tummy tuck is a wonderful surgery after having children and even better after C-section.  Having prior C-sections does not negatively effect your tummy tuck.  In fact, usually the tummy tuck scar is placed below the old C-section scars and is removed with the excess skin of the tummy.  Of course, you should see a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon who specializes in body contouring to have an in depth consultation to discuss your options.
Will a breast lift help an underboob roll?
Underboob with Breast Lift – Liposuction at the same time may Help
Apr 15, 2020
Thank you for your inquiry.  Without seeing you in person or reviewing your photos and doing an online or virtual consult, it would be hard to tell you definitively whether the breast lift would help that area.  Typically, the breast lift improves the excess skin and sagging above the breast crease (inframammary fold).  At times, liposuction is done to the fat roll under the IMF to reduce the appearance of fat on top of the ribs.
Why does the treatment zone exclude the nasolabial fold area?
Ulthera over nasolabial fold
Jan 9, 2020
It is recommended to avoid treatment with the deeper transducers over the nasolabial fold because of a small risk of causing temporary injury to a nerve located in this area.  However, by treating the surrounding tissues, you are still able to safely achieve a lifting of this tissue.  Ulthera is an excellent treatment for stimulating collagen and achieving lift in the face for patients with early skin laxity.
