David Gerth, MD – Account Suspended

Name: David Gerth, MD – Account Suspended
Statement: Dr. David Gerth is a board-eligible plastic surgeon in Miami Beach, Florida. From a young age he was drawn to a science-forward career, which ultimately led him to the field of aesthetic medicine. He specializes in plastic surgery of the face, breast, and body. He finds it deeply rewarding to help his patients improve the quality of their life.

After obtaining his undergraduate degree in genetics at the University of Georgia, Dr. Gerth pursued his medical degree at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, Tennessee. Following medical school, he completed a residency in ear, nose, and throat (ENT), also at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, and subsequently completed a fellowship in facial plastic surgery with the Glasgold Group in Highland Park, New Jersey.

Dr. Gerth’s medical training makes him uniquely equipped to perform facial plastic and reconstructive procedures. The face is arguably the most challenging part of the body because of the fragile bone and tissue structure. Dr. Gerth applies the same deftly handed skill set when performing plastic surgery procedures on the breast and body.

He became a plastic surgeon because he wanted to fuse his love of science with his creativity and imagination. The art of reshaping a face or body requires both facets, to be successful. Additionally, he has a passion for meeting and interacting with people from all walks of life. This has helped him connect with his patients, who ultimately put their trust in him.

Dr. Gerth has hospital privileges at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City and Mercy Hospital, Kendall Regional Medical Center, and The Memorial Health System in Miami, among others.

Practice’s answers

Question
Answer Header & Date
Answer Snippet
Rhinoplasty on wide face. Can I soften up the squareness of my tip and make it more proportional?
Tip plasty is a great option here
Mar 9, 2022
Based on the image you provided, it looks like your nose is slightly asymmetrical. A Rhinoplasty can definitely help soften the tip, however, keep in mind that it may not be possible to fix the asymmetry completely. Make sure to find an example of a nose you like and the shape you aim to achieve and show it to your surgeon during the consultation. Good luck!
Wide, upturned, nose and prominent nostrils – Is my nose fixable?
Yes, the nose could be altered
Mar 9, 2022
You could benefit from a Tip Plasty which will reduce the size of the tip and make it more proportionate to the bridge of the nose, as well as Alarplasty (reduction of the nostrils), which will make the base narrower.
What are the disadvantages of having hanging columella?
Hanging columella is a purely cosmetic issue
Mar 9, 2022
Hanging columella can cause aesthetic discomfort, however, in most patients, there are no known functional problems associated with it. Hanging columella can occur naturally or as a result of the previous rhinoplasty. It can be fixed surgically if you wish to do so.
Am I a good candidate for tip rhinoplasty and lip lift?
You’re a great candidate for both procedures.
Mar 9, 2022
The look you’re going for is definitely achievable. The tip plasty surgery and lip lift can typically be performed together. Keep in mind you may not look exactly as the lady in the picture, but your features will be enhanced.
Why do I like my nose from the side but hate from the front?
Lovely nose
Mar 9, 2022
Your nose is actually very pretty – it fits the rest of your facial features quite nicely. If you wish to enhance it, try finding an example of a nose you like, and we’ll see what can be done to help you achieve that look.
