During that time he was presented with multiple awards for academic excellence and resident teaching. In addition to the time he spent training, he remained committed to education with multiple scholarly publications and regularly taught suturing workshops to colleagues in other specialties.

Dr. Bonett grew up in central Florida, receiving his Bachelor’s Degree in Nutritional Sciences from the University of Florida, followed by a Master’s Degree in Medical Sciences from the University of South Florida where he finished top of his class. He was then honored to be accepted into the second class at the new University of Central Florida College of Medicine in Lake Nona, FL in 2010.

After medical school, Dr. Bonett moved to South Carolina and completed residency in General Surgery at Greenville Health System, now known as Prisma Health. During his third year he was nominated and selected as a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. As chief resident, he received the Resident Academic Achievement Award which is given to the top resident of the program. In 2020, he received his Board Certification in General Surgery and is now Board Eligible in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
