Thanks for your question. I would agree with the other physicians that to help conceal the lack of volume in the upper pole of your chest a breast implant is the easiest way to accomplish this with a slight lift of your lower breast tissue. There’s no substitute for having a one on one consultation with a plastic surgeon in your area who customize a procedure for you and help answer all of your questions!

Some surgeons will try and secure the expander with suture through special tabs during the surgery when they are first inserted while some will not. Thanks for your question! While it’s unlikely that your implant has ruptured due to back massage, the only way to know for sure is to get an MRI of your breasts. I would schedule an appt with your plastic surgeon and have him/her examine your breasts (sometimes they can tell through a clinical exam where the cause of your pain is coming from) and possibly order an MRI.

Thank you for your question. Your breasts appear to be healing well and look great. You are still early in your recovery process and its likely that your breasts will change slightly over the next four weeks. Implants sizes do not equal the same cup size on different women due to variations in your native breast, chest wall, and implant placement. Also, bra sizes are different based on manufacturing so a C at Dillard’s might equal DD at VS.

Thanks for your question. Since you are still only 1 month out from your breast augmentation, your breasts final position and shape has yet to be determined. It can take anywhere between 2-3 months for breast implants to settle and its likely that yours will balance out. Your plastic surgeon would be the best resource to help guide you during the postoperative period and after a physical exam, be able to confirm normal healing.

Your surgeon should have given you a card or some type of document with the serial and LOT number for your breast implants. If you don’t have it, he/she likely recorded the information in the operative note and/or in your medical record at his/her office. I would contact their office to get the information and store it in a safe place; its likely that you will need it again!!

Since you are 7 months out, its likely that you will need a surgical revision although difficult to say exactly what will be needed without photos. I would recommend that you see your Plastic Surgeon for an accurate evaluation and treatment plan.

Thank you for your question and pictures. On average, implants attain their final shape/position at around 6 months after a breast augmentation. Given that, you should continue to follow the instructions that your surgeon provided and see him/her regularly during that interval. Frequently gentle massage on the upper pole can help the implants drop slowly into a nice pocket producing a beautiful result with lateral fullness. Give it more time and I bet…

While it is normal to have a small amount of drainage after a breast augmentation in the immediate period, constant flow is concerning for an ongoing infection, seroma, or difficulty healing. My advice to you would be to seek out a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon in your area who can provide you with ongoing care until this issue is resolved.
