Will the gums close over on their own or is it okay to have the metal exposed?
Not having complete gingival closure is fine.

Hi,
It is perfectly fine not to have complete gum closure over the head of the implant.
Depending on the level of placement of the implant in relation to the crest of the bone, the cover screw or the healing cap of the implant may be partially exposed. As long as there is no pain or swelling and the healing is fine, there is no need of any concerns. Do schedule a follow up appointment with your doctor to check the progress of the healing.
I hope this helps.
Thanks,

Options to fix the front tooth

HI,
The issue you have with the front tooth is decalcification, which means that the area of tooth has lesser calcium crystals during the formation. This usually results in white patchy/ chalky areas on the tooth.
The area is more vulnerable to chipping, pitting and caries formation.
You have the option of dental chair side bonding which is less expensive.
Other options are Dental Veneers or Crowns depending on the area and extent of the decalcification.
Thanks.

Possible infection

Hi,
Sometimes post implant placement surgery, the area may get infected due to a number of reasons.
Infection will cause bone loss around the implant and cause it to fail.
Also since the implant does not have any nerve supply, there will be no pain or any other symptoms other than abcess formation.
It is a good idea to see the doctor to get the implant removed. Also the area needs curettage and bone graft done.

Hi, Looking at the picture it is hard to tell the exact reason for tooth loss and also the present periodontal and gum health for the implant to last and have good esthetics.
I do notice that you have a narrow arch form for your teeth. Since you are considering doing implants, I would recommend you to get consultation for invisalign and correct your teeth alignment prior to permanently restoring your missing teeth.

Can Veneers correct my smile or would I need traditional braces?

Of course veneers can help you fix your teeth quicker, But doing invisalign or orthodontic treatment will help you long lasting results.
Veneers are porcelain laminates, which can chip or break overtime if the occlusion is not favorable.
My recommendation would be to do orthodontic treatment first and then teeth whitening.
Veneers may be needed for minor corrections.
Thanks.

It would be wise to follow up with the doctor to check on the implant site.
Any swelling and pain two weeks after the implant surgery is a sign of concern. Seek professional care immediately.Thanks.

There are different modalities which can help you achieve the smile you want.
Firstly Invisalign would be one of the approaches, you want to get a consult for. Also Veneers, and periodontal surgery may be needed to help with the height of the teeth and gum recession.
Hope fully this helps.
