How Long Do Porcelain Veneers and Crowns Last?
How Long Do Porcelain Veneers and Crowns Last?
Jun 29, 2015
In the 26 years of doing cosmetic
dentistry, seeing the generations that have come across in my office. Obviously we have treated many patients with
tetracycline staining or antibiotic induced staining. Definitely we can get some reasonably good
results with deep bleaching. There are
now materials that do a very good job. Yet it does not give us the absolute beauty and coverage that we can get
from porcelain veneers or porcelain crowns. So I still for those very dark
cases I still recommend…
Do Dental Veneers Look Fake?
Do Dental Veneers Look Fake?
Jun 29, 2015
So the question is do dental
veneers look fake. Unfortunately there
are too many offices and laboratories that do produce veneers that look
fake…and people are scared about that. But it all depends on the laboratory technician, the ceramist and the
artistry of the doctor and how we prepare and design the case. In our office the main goal is to produce a
smile that looks like you were born with it, you belong to it, it belongs to
you and when you walk into a room all people can see is that…
Porcelain Veneer for One Front Tooth – Is This Possible?
Porcelain Veneer for One Front Tooth – Is This Possible?
Jun 29, 2015
Ok so the question is, is a single
porcelain veneer possible on a front tooth…and of course it is. Yet it does become more challenging because
we have to match and mirror the tooth next to it. It will depend on the design from the dentist
but also the skill level and artistry of the ceramist. So definitely if your going to try to venture
into doing just one tooth which is the most difficult thing for a dentist to
do. Please make sure that you ask for
pictures, for other cases that have…
Can Insurance Cover Any of the Costs of Porcelain Veneers?
Can Insurance Cover Any of the Costs of Porcelain Veneers?
Jun 29, 2015
In 26 years I have definitely
treated a lot of tetracycline cases a lot of tetracycline stained teeth with
porcelain veneers and have ended up with patients that have had life changing
experiences and have said that every penny was worth it.Unfortunately insurance has not been very
much help with us. Tetracycline stain is
not really considered a disease its really more of an aesthetic issue…and
unfortunately there’s not a lot of coverage for that so expect to pay out of
pocket but if its…
Is There Any Pain Involved with Veneers?
Is There Any Pain Involved With Veneers?
Jun 29, 2015
The question is, is their any pain
involved with dental veneers. Like any
procedure certainly there is the possibility of discomfort however porcelain
veneers can be done these days with very minimal discomfort. Many times now we’re able to do minimal or no
preparations to be able to do veneers, saving tooth structure which then of
course causes less pain. So they can be
done with very little comfort these days.
Can Porcelain Veneers Make my Small Teeth Look Larger?
Can Porcelain Veneers Make my Small Teeth Look Larger?
Jun 29, 2015
Ok so the question is can
porcelain veneers make my small teeth look bigger…absolutely. Porcelain veneers are a wonderful option for
that because we can change shape, we can change size, we can change contours
and colors and can make smiles appear whiter. Certainly thorough evaluation is necessary to determine the expectations
and make sure that can be matched but definitely porcelain veneers are great
option for that.
Are Porcelain Veneers Recommended for Really Crooked Teeth?
Are Porcelain Veneers Recommended for Really Crooked Teeth?
Jun 29, 2015
Ok so one of the things that uh we
see in our society today and in doing 26 years of cosmetic dentistry is that everyone
wants a instant result.I’ve had
patients come in with extremely crooked teeth that want veneers or crowns to
straighten them and the reality is that I really, really recommend that they
see the orthodontist to get the teeth straightened. There’s too much of a sacrifice made when
you’re trying to pretend that teeth are straightened that way and they need to
be…
