How can I fix my smile?
Fixing Your Smile Starts With Invisalign
Apr 11, 2017
Apr 11, 2017
I would start with Invisalign as long as the teeth are health. It may be necessary to remove a lower incisor (front tooth). It may also be necessary to do crowns/veneers after the Invisalign to optimize the smile and bite. Those are some options to avoid jaw surgery and years of wire braces.
What can I do about a broken porcelain veneer until I can get into a dentist to temporarily fix it
What To Do With A Fractured Porcelain Veneer
Jun 12, 2016
Jun 12, 2016
I would recommend asking local friends or family for a recommendation as well as searching the internet for a great cosmetic dentist or best dentist. Google, Yelp and Angie’s List are good review sources for the most part. I would not try to fix this yourself. If it’s not attached properly, it could come loose and potentially get inhaled which is very dangerous. A dentist can re-bond the fractured veneer temporarily, but it will most likely need to be replaced. Keep in mind, the shade…
Fixing black triangles with dental bonding after orthodontic work?
What to do about black triangles after Invisalign
May 23, 2016
May 23, 2016
This is a very common question. Bonding the black triangles is very difficult and the results may not be as good as either you or the dentist want them to be. There is just not enough space to work with bonding in most cases. If it’s a large triangle it may be able to be done but still the final results will probably be less than perfect. I know you’ve stated that your teeth are healthy so dental veneers may be the right solution for you depending on how badly the black triangles bother you….
Dental Bridge vs. dental Implant
Dental Implants Are Superior To Dental Bridges In Most Cases
Apr 29, 2016
Apr 29, 2016
Dental implants are usually preferred over dental bridges for a number of reasons: they last longer, they are easier to clean, and they do not damage existing teeth. However, there are cases where a dental bridge is a fine restoration: when there is not enough bone for an implant, when there are financial concerns, when a better cosmetic result is anticipated, and possibly elderly or sick individuals not requiring a long-term solution. Dental implants do usually cost more money for the…
Whitening root canal tooth
How to whiten discolored tooth with root canal…
Apr 28, 2016
Apr 28, 2016
It’s worth a try to do external bleaching, however, internal bleaching is probably going to be your best bet. Maybe you could use Carecredit to make payments. Or just wait until you can afford it. You may end up needing a crown on the tooth in the future and having it whitened prior to crown may be needed anyway. Some porcelain crowns struggle to hide a discolored tooth – depending on how dark the core of the tooth is.Hank D. Michael, DMD | General, Cosmetic and Implant Dentistry
Can veneers be placed on existing front teeth crowns?
Veneers over Crowns?
Mar 30, 2016
Mar 30, 2016
This is not advisable since there is no benefit to leaving the existing crown on the tooth. For the same amount of money, the crown is removed, the underside surface of the tooth is disinfected and a new porcelain crown is placed over the tooth. The new porcelain crown is made from the same material as a veneer so it’s it’s esentially the same as new veneers.Hank D. Michael, DMD
Had 6 upper and 6 lower implants placed three days ago. Why are my temps so out of line?
Dental Implant Temporaries
Mar 15, 2016
Mar 15, 2016
You have some valid concerns which need to be addressed by your implant dentist. What you have described is that they feel too far forward and too tall(since you feel you can not close completely. What is important to remember is that these are temporaries(or they should be) and you have only had them for a few days. These restorations take a little time to get used to. You do need to have the bite adjusted as soon as possible because if the teeth feel too tall, you will grind on them in…
