Persistent pain after getting veneers – advice?
Sometimes you get what you pay for!
Jul 31, 2023
Traveling to another country for Cheaper Cosmetic Dentistry may seem like a good idea but as you can see can be problematic at best. Constant pain is never a good thing and loose lower anterior teeth rarely indicates anything but serious problems.
Get in to see a reputable cosmetic dentist and get to the bottom of the problem as soon as you can. Time is of the essence!
Veneers Prep too aggressive?
It Depends!
Jul 31, 2023
Not everyone is a candidate for no prep or minimal prep veneers! One of the biggest mistakes that dentists can do is not prepare the teeth enough in some situations. Under prepared veneers can often end up bulky and over contoured. This can lead to gum problems. Achieving the desired color can also be a problem if enough reduction is not performed.
Tooth infected 5 years after apicoectomy – should I have this done again or should I conside
An Implant is the way to go!
Apr 21, 2023
In my 40 years of practice when apicoectomies fail it I usually due to a fracture in the tooth. I recommend extracting the tooth, and doing a bone graft. Once the bone is mature the implant can be placed.
Bridge vs implant for #30?
Implant!
Sep 15, 2021
Tooth definitely needs to be extracted and the bone grafted prior to either an implant or bridge! If you have none of the contraindications and the CBCT shows adequate volume I believe an implant is the way to go!
Front crowns too “thick”. Can front crowns be shaven down to match my other teeth?
Better than Zirconia are Emax crowns
Sep 15, 2021
I agree that you cannot simply shave down existing crowns but to do something truly esthetic E max crowns are the way to go in most cases. Although I fabricate E max crowns everyday on my Cerec prime scan these I recommend be done by a master creamiest. One that will not only press the eMax but cut them back and layer feldspathic porcelain on top to create a true work of art that will give you the best esthetic result!
Can I whiten my other teeth to match dental crown?
Remake the crown!
Jan 22, 2021
You should never mix and match crowns with whitening. It is a recipe for disaster!
Also, unless you have a ceramist to custom stain the new anterior crown, matching it to the adjacent tooth is a very difficult thing to do. I often recommend that restorations be done in pairs so that the very slight difference in color or texture will not be as evident.
Can I replace current top porcelain/metal caps with Zirconia caps? Get new veneers on bottom
Sure but why all Zirconia?
Apr 27, 2020
First of all changing old PFM crowns is a great idea but just not with all Zirconia. I suggest either e-max or feldspathic fused to zirconia both of which need to be done by a talented ceramist.Secondly porcelain veneers can be done on the lower but not without preparing the teeth properly! I have a saying I use constantly with my patients,” do it right or don’t do it at all”. Trust  an experienced cosmetic dentist who has done thousands of these restorations with proven results to do what …
