I’m interested to know exactly what you mean by ‘poor gums.’ Have you had gum disease (gingivitis/periodontitis) in the past? Gum disease is really only possible when teeth are present. If this is the case, then when teeth are removed, gum disease in that location of the mouth also will also not be present. I’m sorry to hear about your accident. From the photos, it is unclear what type of implant prosthesis you have. You mentioned a bar, but I’m not sure whether you have a permanent fixed implant prosthesis, or a removable prosthesis supported by a bar? Based on this uncertainty, I think it would be best to re-visit your dentist who had fabricated the prosthesis for a full and detailed examination and treatment plan.
