Even though you have a full upper lip, decreasing the distance to 13mm will make your lip and face actually look prettier

Hi,
The mole can be excised quite easily by a Plastic Surgeon. A wedge shaped incision is made and tends to heal without scarring in the lip region. Since it encompasses a very small percentage of the width in the upper lip, the wound can then be closed primarily with minimal distortion

You will look great after a lip lift, its essentially a permanent lip filler. It will harmonize your face a lot, you will be amazed at how it makes your whole face look prettier. I aim to leave 13-14mm of length from nose to upper lip, I have found that looks the best

Hi!
I do notice some swelling of the upper lip region, remember gravity acts on swellings and it will migrate from the nose down to the lip, then down to the chin and so on. Regardless, I do think the distance from the nasal base to upper lip will allow you to have a lip lift with a pretty result. Even in patient’s who have full upper lips (but increased nose to lip distance) , the lip lift actually ends up making the face look prettier. Hope that helps!

That is a great question. So the truth about scars is, the more tension the skin closure is under, the worse the scar will be. The key to a great lip lift scar is surgical technique. The incision needs to be designed to hide in the crevices and valleys of the nasal base. The closure needs to be such that the incision is kissing closed before any external sutures. Hi Mimilop :) Great question, you have beautiful lips! A lip lift will decrease the distance between the bottom of the nose and the top of the lip hence yes, the length of the philtrum (cephalad to caudad) will decrease
You have a beautiful upper lip already, and it is important to note that the look of the upper lip will change slightly with a lip lift. You can mimic the effect by pulling on the skin just below the nose and this will cause a slight upturn of the body of the lip.

Hi massgirl7693! This is an excellent question. I would agree with you that a neck lift / face lift would be overkill in this situation, that usually comes into play post age 40 at the earliest. The best option for you would be to visit a Plastic Surgeon, who should be able to tell you after palpating (examining) the skin in the chin/neck area if there is any fat present. This is diagnosed easily with digital palpation by a Plastic Surgeon.
