Answer Snippet
Can oily skin prevent the peeling from 0.1% Retin A?
Retin-A and oily skin
Sep 17, 2015
For people with naturally more oily skin, the famous peeling side effects of Retin-A might not be as obvious. This doesn't mean it's not working, but it could mean that you may be able to bump up your retinoid to Tazorac. Tazorac is in the prescription retinoid family, but a slightly different formulation than that of Retin-A. It has two strengths; these both tend to be the most aggressive topical retinoids available. Depending on your goals, you could ask your doctor about moving up to this...
I was wondering if I can use moisturizer with Retin-A?
Retin-A use and Moisturizers
Sep 5, 2015
You absolutely can use a moisturizer with your Retin A. Most patients require a moisturizer in conjunction with their retinoid, as it can cause dryness and flaky skin. Remember, this means it working! You can apply your moisturizer first and then your Retin A, OR you can mix your retinoid with equal parts moisturizer and spread this evenly on your face. Don't forget your hydrating SPF in the morning too.
Does Accutane Cause Fatigue?
Fatigue and Isotretinoin
Sep 4, 2015
Fatigue is a known side effect of this medication. While it's not extremely common, it is something that we always monitor for during follow-up visits while a patient is on Isotretinoin. Make sure that you are staying well hydrated, as dehydration can make a person feel worn-down or tired. Regardless, please check in with your prescribing physician and review your symptoms with them. It could require an adjustment for your dose or closer monitoring. Good luck!
