All of us would recommend that you follow the advice of your surgeon. Having said that, the normal guidelines following this type of surgery would be to avoid heavy lifting (more than 10 lbs) for 6-8 weeks. This allows the pockets to heal and prevents issues during the early post-op time period. Heavy lifting potentially could displace the implants or stretch the pockets causing future problems.

In general, I would not advise the use of an IPL at this time juncture post-op. Albeit minimally, an IPL is going to add energy to the area, only increasing inflammation and potentially swelling. There are far better options on the market. First and foremost, a low dose steroid taper (Medrol dose pak) can reduce swelling and inflammation following facial procedures.
