Answer Snippet
Will veneers fix my narrow top jaw?
narrow smile
Jan 14, 2021
Veneers can be used to broaden a smile vs orthodontically repositioning the posterior teeth towards the facial. In your case it would be important to study your bite as well as some better photos showing your true smile line to determine which option would be best.
What causes internal bleaching to fail? What is the best option now? Veneers?
internal bleaching limitations
Jan 6, 2021
Sometimes internal/external whitening will not fully return a damaged tooth back to its original color and veneers are necessary.
What can I do about my gaps?
Veneers
Jan 6, 2021
This is a common problem following orthodontics. Veneers on the tooth behind the space will close much of the gap. The distal of the canines will also need porcelain but you may still end up with some slight residual space on the left side
6 unit bridge or implants?
bridge vs implants
Jan 6, 2021
The right choice will also depend on your smile and how much of your teeth and gums you reveal. Many times when there is bone loss, it can be difficult to avoid black triangles (spaces between teeth near gumline) when teeth are lost. Make sure to take the cosmetics into account as well. Good luck!
Could veneers on the sides make my narrow smile wider and bigger?
Veneers for wider smile
Dec 29, 2020
Definitely possible to add veneers to widen your smile. However, the ideal result is not possible without adding to the front teeth as well. The result needs to have symmetry, with properly proportioned teeth and matching colors.
Opinion on what best to do about my teeth/bonding with a fixed retainer?
gap
Dec 23, 2020
I would first explore the possibility of removing bonded retainer and Invisalign treatment to close the space. Spaces always have a tendency to open so you will most likely need another bonded retainer as well as a removable retainer that you wear nightly to keep it closed.
As far as shortening your 2 front teeth, this is very easy and not a problem.
I’d like a second opinion: Composite veneer kind of see-through, is this normal?
Composite
Dec 23, 2020
Sometimes it can be very difficult to properly match color in repairing chipped teeth with composite, especially when the remaining tooth structure has irregular staining or characteristics. It does appear from the photo that the composite used is very translucent compared to the opacity noticed on the tooth structure but it is perfectly healthy.
