What is a veneer mock up?
Try before you buy veneers
Mar 16, 2021
If you are trying to improve your smile dramatically with porcelain veneers, it would be wise to have a physical mock up of your teeth done in your mouth first. A mock up for porcelain veneers is a technique whereby the dentist uses composite resin to shape the teeth to the size and arrangement that suits the patient’s desires. At this stage, it is very easy for the dentist to change teeth size, length and / or arch forms, that are acceptable to the patient before the actual fabrication of…
What cosmetic dental treatment would you recommend for me based on my pictures?
Porcelain restorations for instant tooth alignment.
Mar 16, 2021
The first thing any dentist would need would be to see a copy of your x-rays followed by a thorough clinical exam. The combination of selective extractions of hopeless teeth combined with custom permanent porcelain bridge work may be a solution. Because you show significant gum tissue upon smiling, custom gingival shaded ceramic material would have to be included In such a bridgework design. Of course, required periodontal treatment may be necessary before any restorative treatment could be…
My ortho suggested SARPE for me. I really don’t wanna go for it. Is there an alternative for it?
Alternative to SARPE
Dec 6, 2020
For patients wishing to avoid the potential surgical complications of SARPE surgery, depending on severity of crossbite mal occlusion, a restorative technique with buccal surface porcelain extension might be a possibility
Would you recommend to replace 4 front top teeth by doing root canals on each tooth & replace them w
To crown or not to crown teeth
Jul 25, 2014
You need to show photos of your existing teeth in order to better understand why crowns were recommended. A quality porcelain crown should not look bulky at all if done right. It can be made to look quite natural. How long it lasts depends on how well you take care of it (brush, floss, professional cleanings) and how strong your bite is. For example, a person who grinds their teeth cannot expect their crowns to last as long as a patient who does not grind their teeth.
Do I have to get a crown or is it possible to get a filling? if I get a crown, will I have to replac
Do you need a crown?
Jul 24, 2014
Your clinical picture indicates that you are a candidate for a bonding or porcelain veneer. The biting edge of a front tooth is usually not a great candidate for the bonding however, as it may fall off under normal function. The veneer or 3/4 all porcelain crown would be much stronger and definitely last longer.
Do I have to get a broken tooth pulled if it has broken off below the gumline due to a failed root c
Tooth broken below the gumline
Jul 24, 2014
Without seeing your x-ray or clinical picture it is hard to give you sound advice. However, you may need a crown lengthening surgery in order to restore the tooth properly. If you are a candidate for crown lengthening a permanent post, core and crown can be placed to restore the broken tooth. It’s difficult to advise on the pain without seeing it.
Both incisor implants, not happy with the length, what do I do?
Unhappy with new implant teeth
Jul 24, 2014
Most dentists will back up their cosmetic dentistry restorations. I am sure if you express your concerns to your dentist he/she will be happy to redo them to your satisfaction. However, you should be proactive and not let the new crowns be permanently placed unless you agree with the new length and shape.
