Combining Facelift with other Surgeries

In my opinion and in my practice, I will only perform a facelift and will not combine with other procedures. The reason is safety as doing a proper facelift involves around 6 hours in the operating room. Trying to add liposuction, as posted in your question, is too much time under anesthesia. I advise patients to decide which procedure is their priority and start with that surgery, then return for the second surgery. Health and safety come first!
I am hearing that a lot of facelifts don't last past 5 years. Is this true?

This is a complex question as longevity is not just the surgery itself. Results involve the quality and elasticity of the skin as well as following post op care instructions and using sunscreen at least once per day. Other factors than can effect longevity are genetics, diet and smoking.

Hello and thank you for your question! Honestly, so much depends on the elasticity of your skin, age, skin damage, etc.Based on your photo, this skin is not going to become tight within surgery to remove the extra skin. This photo indicates you would need a neck lift to get the best results.

Since you are only doing fat transfer to the buttocks, sitting will not be an issue. You will more likely be very sore from the lipo and patients describe this type of soreness as if they had been in the gym for 8 hours. This usually subsides within about 7-10 days. You will likely be tired during the first week or so so it would helpful if you could have some assistance during this time. I recommend drinking a lot of electrolytes as well as a high protein diet to help your recovery along...

You have asked a very important question and it is necessary to consider before your surgery. Many patients think they will be satisfied with just lipo but there is absolutely no guarantee the skin will retract and be tight. In cases like yours, I recommend doing a tummy tuck in order to remove the extra skin or you could be left with sagging skin that cannot be fixed with skin tightening treatments.

Thanks for your question! The fact is that the face is made up of three structures, muscle, fat and skin. As we age, we lose the fat/volume in our face. That, along with drooping muscles and skin elasticity changes, all contribute to seeing ourselves differently as we age.

At this time, I see so little extra skin in your case that I would not recommend an upper eyelid for you yet. You have beautiful eyes, your brows are in the perfect place and I would recommend revisiting the subject in another year or so.
