This 58 year old patient complained of an aging face. Noted was a generalized loss of volume with moderate skin laxity. A facelift was performed to provide surgical correction of the jowls and neck.
The medial border of the platysmal muscles was then incised to improve cervicomental angle. Next, the lateral neck and facelift dissection was carried out. The right side was operated on followed by the left side. A short scar-type technique coursing on the inferior portion of the preauricular hairline, a retrotragal continuing to a posterior auricular and high into the hairline type incision was made. The cheek and lateral neck were dissected in a subcutaneous plane. The lateral neck dissection communicated with the central neck dissection. Fat grafting was not performed.
