This is a difficult thing for us as surgeons to know because it is not a recognised medical condition and so there aren’t good statistics because it is not a formal diagnosis.

I use a lot of breast implants and I have never had a patient of mine complain of it, however, I have treated patients who have described it and have felt a lot better when their implants are removed.

Hi Somber,It is always difficult to say based on a photograph alone, but I don’t think that you would get away with just having implants.Implants are great at making the breasts bigger, but when shape is an issue, it is really a lift that is needed.Sometimes you can ‘get away’ with having implants and avoid a lift, but I think a lift would be the way to go with you and this could be combined with implants if you wanted to be bigger.Hope this helps.  Good luck!

Hello Eleanor,This is a difficult question to answer and would be best addressed with an in-person consultation.Teardrop implants do run the risk of rotation and so this risk needs to balanced against the benefit in terms of the difference in shape with less fullness in the upper part of the breast.  You could consider polyurethane foam implants which are much less likely to rotate than textured silicone implants.I would be concerned about going bigger and going teardrop.  For a given base…
