How long after using the Retin-a should I start to notice a difference? Do I use it continuous
Retin A for the skin
Nov 10, 2013
Retin A will help moderate the way your skin sloughs and can help with acne in 2-4 weeks. It also has been proven to increase collagen production therefore helping with fine lines and wrinkles. It also helps moderate sun damage therefore it helps with reducing the risk of skin cancer. Keep using it!
What are the possible risks after having juvederm injected in the glabella area and for how lo
Juvederm not indicated for the Glabella
Nov 10, 2013
The glabellar region is not an ideal place for filler. The risk of necrosis and other complications are much higher in this area. I do not inject filler of any type in the glabella.
Does Mole Removal by Electrocautery Cause Bad Scarring?
Have a dermatologist evaluate the “mole”
Jul 12, 2011
I would not recommend having an aesthetician remove a "mole" with electrocautery. the more prudent thing to do would be to have a dermatologist evaluate the skin lesion, let you know exactly what it is, and then tell you the best method to remove it if it is cosmetically undesirable. If is has enlarged, changed color, become asymmetric or has started looking a bit different than other skin lesions on your face, then it should be removed and be evaluated by a fellowship…
Moisturizer with Retin-A – Apply Which First?
Moisturize with Retinoids to minimize irritation
Feb 18, 2011
Apply the moisturizer first, then apply the topical retinoid; this should minimize any irritation with the retinoid without affecting the results.
Can Retin-A Stop Working Once Skin Has Developed a Tolerance to It?
Retin A can be used for a lifetime
Jan 17, 2011
The first recommendation I would offer is to increase the strength of the Retin A first, it is offered in .025, .05 and .1 Cream.  You can add other supplements to the Retin A regimen such as Vitamin C (an antioxidant) for healthy skin, hydroquinone for dark spots and blotchy skin, and other collagen/growth factor ( SkinMedica) creams for yet another approach to healthy skin.
How Does Dusa Photodynamic Therapy Work?
Acne Treatment with PDT
Jan 17, 2011
The Blue Light is approved for use in acne, however I have found that the pulsed dye laser is a better activator of the Levulan when treating acne, and the literature backs this up.  You probably could have used another 10-15 minutes under the light to activate the medicine, course then you would have had a significant amount of redness after the procedure.
Photodynamic Therapy Done Incorrectly?
Variation after PDT Treatments
Jan 5, 2011
It is not uncommon to have less of a reaction as you have more treatments as there are fewer actinic keratoses on the face in the area.  If the incubation time was shorter the third time, that could explain a kinder reaction as well.  The time under the light could also affect the treatment outcome.  I would suggest getting your records from the previous treatment, so your current physician knows how long you were incubated and how long you were under the light.
