Do I Have to Get Braces for Corrective Jaw Surgery?
Braces or invisalign is needed for the best corrective jaw surgery
Jan 18, 2012
While surgery can be done without orthodontic treatment, it's not ideal. When surgery is performed, the top and bottom teeth need to be coordinated in good alignment so they can fit together. If it's the braces you're worried about, surgery can be done with Invisalign being used to align the teeth and temporary anchorage devices being used during the surgery. These are also called mini screws. Braces give us the best control but options do exist. Best of…
On Invisalingn Teen There Are Little Blue Dots and One of Mine Fell of What Should I Do?
Blue dots are compliance indicators for the orthodontist
Jan 3, 2012
With teenagers, cooperation can often be a problem when it comes to orthodontic treatment. The Blue dots fade while the aligners are being worn so an orthodontist can tell if the patient is wearing them enough. It's not a problem is one of them fell off. Just keep wearing the aligners.

Is Pulling Teeth Needed Before Invisalign In My Case?
Most likely, you won’t need teeth pulled but an exam is necessary
Oct 8, 2011
Your crowding does not seem too severe to warrant tooth removal but without evaluating your bite and how the teeth look within your smile and face, a definitive decision cannot be made.

Make an appointment with an orthodontist to learn more.

Invisalign Refinement. is my Second Go,
Refinements don’t cost anything extra to the dooctor or the patient
Jul 12, 2011
As already mentioned by other people here, refinements are no big deal. If you need them, you do them. It probably should have been mentioned at the beginning but it doesn’t cost you or the doctor anything extra to do it.
Invisalign Cost Comparison
Seriously??? $12000 US for Invisalign
Jul 11, 2011
Roughly speaking, Invisalign cost in the US is around $5000. Some charge more, some charge less…but $12000? That seems high.

Your case is very complicated (appears surgical to me) and orthodontists can charge what they want based on the complexity of a case. If the orthodontist is a top invisalign specialist and can show you results, then perhaps it's worth the money.

I for one, cannot treat a case like yours with Invisalign and obtain the results I want…

How Much Do Braces Cost for Teenagers Compared to Adults?
Cost of Braces for teens same or similar to cost for adults
Jul 2, 2011
Usually, the cost for treatment is dictated by the complexity of the case and the amount of time it will take to complete.

Undoubtedly it’s easier to treat someone while growth is taking place (teenager) but this usually only effects the treatment plan and rarely the cost.

Psychosocially it’s also a bit easier to deal with braces while younger rather than as an adult.

Does Suresmile Decrease Treatment Time As Promised, or Are Hand Bent Wires Just As Good?
Sure Smile Vs Other Braces Systems
Jun 25, 2011
Do not give into the marketing hype.

There is nothing wrong with Sure Smile but it's no different than any other orthodontic system.

If you like the idea of a computer generated system (which frankly costs more) then there's no harm in going that direction. If an orthodontist chooses to use a system like that, it is usually done as a business decision because it allows them to be more efficient and treat more patients rather than the fact that it is…
