Botox only in the glabella area? Or in the whole forehead?
Botox to glabella
Feb 11, 2019
Thanks for your question! Looking at your photo, I think it would be entirely reasonable for you to start with just having your glabella area treated. This should effectively treat the wrinkles you can see. Provided you see an experienced practitioner, this should be absolutely fine. It is possible to freeze some of the central portion of frontalis (the brow muscle) if you inject too high, which can lead to arched eyebrows. This can be treated with some additional injections to the…
Can my ears look normal again before my wedding in October?
Ear lobe repair
Feb 11, 2019
Good news! Yes, your ear lobes can be repaired and should be looking normal again by October. This is a relatively straightforward procedure that can be performed under local anaesthetic – just make sure you visit a board certified plastic surgeon. I normally allow my patients to pierce their ears again after 6 weeks. The cost will obviously depend on the surgeon and location.
When you have a breast reduction/lift, do your breasts drop?
Breast drop after breast reduction
Feb 11, 2019
Surgeons use various techniques to try and maintain the shape of the breasts longterm following breast reduction and/or breast lift. Ultimately, however, there will be a degree of sag as gravity and loss of skin elasticity takes its toll. How quickly this develops depends on a number of factors such as surgical technique, age, skin quality and breast size. However, a degree of drop is not always a bad thing, as it often means the breasts take on a more natural shape…
Should I give my bandaged incisions some air?
Healing post tummy tuck
Feb 11, 2019
Great question! I know its very tempting to let the wound air, but wounds tends to heal quicker in a moist environment. I would continue using the ointment prescribed by your PS. Remember you are still in the very early postoperative stages, but it sounds as though things are doing fine!
Swelling after removing stitches after breast reduction? My doctor said it is norma
Breast reduction
Sep 29, 2018
Your left breast does look swollen compared to the left. It’s very unlikely that this is due to having the sutures removed. The most common causes of swelling post op are bleeding and seroma. However, the swelling isn’t too bad, there’s little bruising and the breast doesn’t look infected. It should settle down on its own, but this can take several weeks weeks. Keep an eye out for any changes and contact your plastic surgeon if you are concerned.
Draining fluid in post op visit. Is this a simple procedure?
Fluid collection post op
Aug 27, 2018
Some procedures (tummy tuck in particular) are prone to forming a fluid collection post op. This is called a seroma. Often this is self-limiting and reabsorbed by your body, helped by wearing a compression garment. Sometimes your Plastic Surgeon may choose to drain the seroma. This is a simple procedure that can be performed in the office with a needle and syringe. It’s usually relatively painless, but may need to be performed more than once until the seroma settles down.
How Soon Will I See Results from Juvederm?
When you will see Juvederm results
Feb 4, 2018
The effects of Juvederm can be seen immediately. However, it works by drawing water to the area and so some additional fullness can be expected over the next few days. Some people develop inflammation after the injection, which can also cause temporary swelling before subsiding. Therefore, it is important to wait at least 2 weeks before deciding if any more filler is required to an area. As a rough guide, fillers will last about 6 months, though this can vary greatly between…
