i have really bad bruising caused by acne on my back?
bruising caused by acne
Oct 31, 2013
The photo of your back appears to demonstrate active (?cystic) acne, in addition to pigmentary changes related to acne. A rational approach would be to get your acne under better control before considering treatments for the discoloration. I would suggest consulting a board certified dermatologist.
My 8 yr. Daughter had sclerotheraphy 10 days ago, still unable to walk, is dizzy and has no appetite.
Symptoms after sclerotherapy
Oct 28, 2013
I would urge you to take your daughter to the nearest children’s hospital emergency room (preferably) or to see her pediatrician as soon as possible. We would have to attribute the strange neurologic symptoms she is having to the procedure until proven otherwise. My main concern in this case would be the possibility of a clot traveling to the brain to cause these neurologic complications.
Is it safe to wax my face after a tca peel?
Waxing after TCA peel
Oct 28, 2013
I would suggest waiting a full month from the date of the peel, or until all signs of inflammation (redness/irritation) have subsided, whichever comes first. If waxing is done too soon, the risk of discoloration due to inflammation (also known as postinflammatory hyperpigmentation) is greater.
How Can I Get Rid of Under Eye Wrinkles?
Under-eye wrinkles
Oct 2, 2013
If under-eye wrinkles are present because of loose skin of the lower eyelid (and not a different cause such as atopic dermatitis or allergies), then tightening of the skin with chemical peeling or laser resurfacing can reduce the wrinkles. You may want to undergo a trial of a good eye cream first, for a month or two, before undertaking the risks associated with a laser or peeling procedure.
Is It Safe to Use Doryx 100mg Capsules Twice Per Day for the Treatment and Maintenance of Clear Skin
Long-term use of doxycycline
Oct 2, 2013
It is best to avoid daily doses of doxycycline higher than 40 mg long-term (that is, longer than 2-3 months continuously). 100 mg twice daily of doxycycline intermittently for acne flares could be considered. The risk of long-term use of antibiotic doses of doxycycline is that of bacterial resistance, not to mention a tendency for a decrease in effectiveness of the medication over time.
Is It Ok to Use Oil Based Moisturizers While on Accutane? I Haven’t Found Anything else That Makes a
Moisturizers while on Accutane
Oct 2, 2013
Oil or petrolatum-based moisturizers are fine for application to the lips or non-facial areas while taking isotretinoin. I would suggest avoiding use of such moisturizers, however, on non-lip facial areas since they can clog pores and lead to blackheads and whiteheads. If OTC moisturizers such as Cerave, Neutrogena or Cetaphil are not adequate for the face, consider asking your doctor for a prescription for Epiceram or Hylatopic moisturizers that may be more…
Will Epiduo Work for my Issue?
Epiduo
Sep 28, 2013
Epiduo would certainly be worth a trial for what appears to be a mild to moderate acne problem. Please note that your acne may get a bit worse a few weeks after starting the medication, before it gets better.
