The left eye is farsighted and the right one has hyperopia with astigmatism. The difference is too big
Difference in refractive error
May 11, 2017
Hello-this is Dr Chris Walton in Mobile,AL. I am a refractive surgeon who sees this condition frequently. It’s called anisometropia, meaning a large difference in the prescription between the eyes. Spectacle correction is very hard to tolerate with this condition and leads to double vision, nausea, and poor depth perception.
Contact lens correction is usually better tolerated with clearer vision but I would consider LASIK in the right eye as the recommended procedure. This…
Eyes one week after LASIK are blurry. Is this normal and when will it go away? I am worried.
blurry vision after LASIK
May 3, 2017
Hello-this is Dr Chris Walton in Mobile,AL. I am a LASIK and cataract surgeon in the Gulf Coast area. Usually, the vision is excellent the day after surgery and stays this way. I would definitely check with your surgeon before June 20th just to make sure the flaps are OK. Dry eye always increases after LASIK for 4-6 weeks so you could be having increased dry eye symptoms that will definitely cause vision to decrease temporarily. Increasing artificial tear use…
I got my femto LASIK done on 27 March 2017. I have halos and blurred vision
halos and dry eye
Mar 31, 2017
Hello. yes, halos are common and can last for up to 3 months following surgery. they should diminish gradually over this time period.
Dry eye is found in virtually every patient following surgery but should resolve within 6-8 weeks. i use tears every 2-3 hours for the first 2-3 wks following surgery. i don’t know your age but if you’re between 37-45, you will need readers for small print, even following Lasik. this is normal presbyopia..hope this helps!

Wrong decision with LASIK?
blurry vision after Lasik
Mar 28, 2017
Hello. after 2 days, the distance vision should be very sharp in most cases. check with your surgeon and see if you had a myopic or hyperopic surgery. myopic, or nearsighted ablations, are usually great the next day. Hyperopic or farsighted ablations, can take up to 2 weeks before distance is sharp because of the optics. reading is usually very good temporarily until the distance settles in. i see this in most of my farsighted patients. i would follow up…
Can I get LASIK with a power of -5 in both eyes?
lasik candidate
Mar 28, 2017
Hello. i assume your are nearsighted or myopic. Lasik is a great choice and more than likely you are a candidate. i use the Wavelight Allegretto laser that has a limit of -14, so virtually everyone is a candidate with this technology. check with your surgeon to make sure you are in this range and be sure he is using the Wavelight. hope this helps.

Blurry vision 3 days after LASIK surgery. Is this normal?
blurry vision
Mar 28, 2017
Hello. i’m a Lasik surgery specialist and 3 days following myopic Lasik, vision should be very good at this point. there is always increased dry eye but that’s a normal postoperative condition. i would definitely see your surgeon immediately and make sure there aren’t any flap issues, such as folds or inflammation in the flaps. hope this help

Suddenly vision got blurry after LASIK?
sudden blurry vision
Mar 25, 2017
Hello. the most likely cause of this is severe dry eye which is very common for several weeks following Lasik. dry eye can cause a sudden drop in vision and always increases following Lasik surgery. i would increase artificial tear use to every 2 hours and follow up with your surgeon next couple days to be sure the flap has not slipped. this would be rare but i have seen it.
