It can be difficult to reduce the space with submuscular implants alone – the edge of the muscle attached to the sternum can prevent the implant from moving towards the midline. Your surgeon will explain the options to you and tell you what is possible based on your tissues, breast width etc.Possible alternative options: fat transfer to the cleavage area or consider subfascial placement of the implants to allow them to be a little closer together.

To get the best result, I would recommend a breast lift to reposition the nipple and reshape the breast. There is enough breast tissue to not require an implant unless you want to be significantly bigger.

This is most likely to be the knot of the absorbable suture used to close the wound. It will either disappear in time, or it may discharge through the wound – it will usually settle down after that. It would be advisable to see the surgeon who did the operation for further advice.

I always order backup implants. I’ve fortunately never had to use them, but it would be a real problem if they weren’t available if needed. Some surgeons order backup implants for every patient, others keep a stock in their clinic just in case.

The best results from liposuction are in patients with fairly small areas of stubborn fat and skin that has not stretched much. I think that in your case, liposuction would leave a significant amount of loose skin and you would be quite disappointed with the result.

There should be little difference between a plastic surgeon and gynaecological surgeon if appropriately trained and experienced. Plastic surgeons are specifically trained in reconstructive and cosmetic procedures and meticulous handling of tissues which is very important in labiaplasty surgery. Please note, I am a Plastic Surgeon, so obviously biased!
