Pain in jaw and mouth after implant removal and bone graft
Pain after implant removal and bone graft.
Mar 29, 2016
Hello,This doesn’t sound normal. Healing time is usually one week. Your symptoms should improve with time not worsen. It sounds like you have developed a post op infection.  The grafting procedure might be compromised.  Have your surgeon reevaluate the site as soon as possible. If the graft is compromised:It will need to be removed,\The  assumed infection can lead to pain at the site of the surgeryPain can radiate to the jaw on the same side of the surgery  The white tissue can be…
Can the dentist replace the old bonding with a new one ?
Veneer Vs. Bonding
Mar 29, 2016
Hello,Bonding and Veneers are both good options. You need to decide if you want a long term solution vs. a shorter one. Consider the following:Veneers:Natural lookingLast longer Color stableConsistant color with no visible marginRequired more preparation of enamel then bondingMore expensiveUsually sent to a lab and requires 2 visit about 1-2 weeks apart. Bonding:Tend to look flat if not layered correctly Shorter life spanDiscolor overtime Margins become visible overtimeRequired less…

Canine Teeth
Mar 27, 2016
It is advisable to get a comprehensive dental exam with x-rays and digital photos. Express your concerns to your dental provider prior to initiating treatment.  With this, you and your dental provider can discuss concerns and all possible options.  Some options can include small modifications of the canines to shorten or to round off the points, as long as the modification do not adversely affect your tooth or your bite. You do not want to have excessive modifications as this can lead to…

What is the best material for bone grafting for implants?
Bone Grafting Material
Nov 7, 2015
Keeping it simple There are many types of bone grafting material available today. The major types include: Autografts(ones own bone), Allografts (human source), Xenografts( animal source), Synthetic (engineered). Autografts are the best from a compatibility standpoint. Xenograft, however are widely used by most surgeons when Autografts are not indicated. Grafting material is also selected based on the clinical procedure, clinical demands and outcome expectations.

Bone Graft
Nov 7, 2015
Bone grafting will last a long time. However, 5 yrs. maybe too long to assume all the bone is still present. Have the site evaluated to see how much bone is available. If there is, an implant can be your best choice. Once implant is placed, the bone should remain. An Implant will help you avoid having the natural teeth on either side ground down for a bridge.

11 unit bridge.
Nov 6, 2015
Whether or not you have a one or an 11 unit bridge, the gums should not look like this 7 weeks post op. It looks as if the bridge has not been fitted very well. As a result the gums are able to heal/ tighten up. The lack of healing can be attributed the following:Poor bridge margins( where bridge meets the tooth)Compromised Hygiene due to fitting concerns Poor hygienic design preventing you from being able to clean you teeth/bridge.Recommendation is to see if your dentist can…
