My Dermatologist is Asking for $6000 for Milila Removal and Says It Takes 1 Year?
get a second opinion
Jul 11, 2013
My recommendation is to get a second opinion from another dermatologist. Milia removal is often covered by your health insurance. When something just doesn't sound right, you are never wrong to schedule an appointment with another doctor for another opinion.
Increasing Vitamin D by Supplement?
Vitamin D does not help you tan
Jul 11, 2013
Vitamin D is a vitamin that is produced from sun light hitting our skin. It can also be found in some foods. Vitamin D is important for our bones. However, vitamin D has nothing to do with producing a tan. So while taking vitamin D supplements is a good idea for healthy bones, it will not help you tan or prevent a sun burn.
I'm on Oral Isotretinoin 10mg/day.Can I Do Salicylic Acid Peel?still W/ Lots of Closed Comedones!
Peels and Isotretinoin
May 21, 2013
I usually recommend my patients stay away from things like peels while they are on Isotretinoin. Your skin becomes much more sensitive and the reactions that you can have from peels can be unpredictable. A better method to clear the comedones may be to increase the dose, then to add a second treatment.
Can B12 Shots Cause Cystic Acne?
B12 causing acne?
May 8, 2013
This sounds like a coincidence. There is no scientific evidence or medical studies that have shown that B12 can cause cystic acne.
How Many Tablets Should I Be Taking, Accutane?
The proper dose
Apr 22, 2013
The dose of Accutane is often determined based on weight of the patient and the response to treatment. However, when ever there seems to be confusion between the doctors orders and the pharmacy, the best thing to do is call the doctors office and ask. Unfortunately mistakes can happen, so it is always better to be safe then sorry.
What Could This Be? How Do I Get Rid of It?
Lesions on the penis
Apr 8, 2013
There are too many possibilities to give you an answer. I would recommend that you be seen by a physician as soon as possible. Lesions on the penis can range from cancer to allergic reactions. Without seeing the area, it is impossible to give an accurate diagnosis.
Bump on my Upper Eyelid?
Eyelid bumps
Mar 28, 2013
There are many different lumps and bumps that can grow on the upper eyelids. Many are benign (non-cancerous), but some are malignant (cancer). It is therefore advisable to get it checked out by a physician. Growths on the eyelid can be examined by a dermatologist or an ophthalmologist.
