Would I be able to get invisalign?
It appear you would be a candidate for Invisalign
Feb 9, 2015
Of course I cannot give you a definitive answer with the two photos provided, however, having done a great deal of Invisalign, I think you would be a great candidate for Invisalign.
Please explain in detail what exactly is a Diagnostic Wax Up?
Seeing the final result before you start.
Feb 9, 2015
A diagnostic wax-up is where models of your teeth are re-shaped with white wax, usually by a lab to precisely shape and design your crowns so you and the dentist can see what the result will be and it meets all requirements before the teeth are prepped. The wax-up can be used to fabricate provisional crowns and even be a template for the final crowns. This is the technique I always use when doing several crowns or a complete make-over. Good luck.
What options should I consider to improve my smile?
The truth
Feb 9, 2015
As I look at your teeth and the existing braces, the honest truth is that the brackets on the front two central incisors need to be repositioned to make the teeth straight. They are tilted because the brackets that hold the wire are not placed correctly. You should be able to have your orthodontist do this to complete your case correctly without any additional cost to you. After your teeth are more vertically straight, the incisal edges may need to be slightly contoured, but should look…
What procedure would work best to close my gap Veneers or Bonding?
Go natural!
Oct 9, 2014
The “6 month braces” that many dentists do will only work in the right situations. I would either have the original dentist that did the braces complete the work that you asked for or go to another dentist that is well trained in Invisalign to give you the proper result. You have very nice teeth so I would not do any permanent altering to your teeth with bonding or veneers. Your best choice is always to keep your teeth as natural as possible if they are esthetically nice looking. Good luck.
Is it okay to fixed bridge using canine and wisdom as abutments and four continuos molar pontics?
Not advised
Oct 7, 2014
That is a long span for a bridge and expecting it to have many years of service without problems. The canine would be a strong abutment but the wisdom tooth can be questionable. The biggest problem is the span all functioning off of two teeth. A better option would be 4 implants or in finances are an issue; a 4 unit bridge with 2 implants and two pontics in between. Good luck.
Which would you recommend; Invisalign for 2 years versus 15 months with first premolar extractions
No extractions
Oct 1, 2014
I agree with Dr. Winters. Do not allow any extractions. With todays dental technologies, especially with a well trained orthodontist, there are ways to distalize (move back) the upper back teeth to make room for the front teeth. Its hard to say without seeing more information, but there are many issues with removing bicuspids. More often than not, the space would be closed but not by moving the teeth together, more by tipping them together to some degree. 1 1/2 to 2 years of braces for a…
Would I be eligible for invisalign?
Most cases are
Sep 22, 2014
Only the very unusual or class III bites are best done with braces. Most cases can be treated with Invisalign, however it takes a talented dentist to obtain the desired results on difficult cases. Good luck.
