Great job on the weight loss. Tummy tuck would be your best option but muscle repair is not necessary so the pain won’t be near as bad as a traditional tummy tuck. Don’t waste your money on skin tightening in my opinion. Good luck

Pain and new lines on Breast augmentation incision 9 weeks post op. Should I be concerned?

In general there shouldn’t be new redness along the incision 9 weeks after surgery but this sometimes can happen with the sutures not dissolving as they should. I’d have your surgeon take a look to make sure there is no concern for infection. The scar tissue along the incision will be palpable at 9 weeks which will soften with time. If you use tobacco I’d be concerned about a late infection. Best of luck

Unfortunately, weight alone is not enough to determine if you are a good candidate for a tummy tuck. A BMI is slightly more helpful but seeing a board certified plastic surgeon for a consultation will be the best approach. Look at before and after photos as well to find photos of similar cases as your own. Great job with the weight loss. If you place implants alone the nipple will sit very lower on the breast and while in a bra or clothing you would look fine, out of clothing you may not be pleased with the appearance. A breast lift will reposition the nipple and tighten the skin around the implant for a much improved shape. Hope this helpsJosh Olson MD

I revision lift may increase your upper pole fullness but without know your surgical history and examining you it is difficult to say. Larger implants are heavier and the weight of the implants may be more than your tissue can hold up so adding Galaflex or Strattice for additional support may be reasonable. You can definitely achieve improvement in your breast shape and size with implants and a breast lift. I would recommend a textured implant in the sub muscular pocket as well as a circumareolar mastopexy to decrease the areola size and tighten the loose breast tissue around the implant. You are at a higher risk of a double bubble when lowering the fold but this tends to stretch or improve with time. Best of luckJosh Olson MD

Gravity and weakening breast tissue or capsule are to blame for changes over time. Nothing is permanent especially with changes such as breast feeding and pregnancy. You would likely benefit from a breast revision surgery to tighten the breast implant pocket and swap out the implants. A breast lift will also likely be needed. You can probably achieve a good result either way. A lift may give your breast a better shape and nipple position if you are wanting a smaller implant. If you raise you arms up in the air in front of the mirror and there is no breast dropping over the breast fold an implant alone may be appropriate. This is challenging to diagnose based on photos alone. A side profile photo would be helpful. Either way you likely have early capsular contracture or superior malposition of the implant. If you are right hand dominant sometimes the muscle holds the implant up more or you may not have done the displacement exercises enough. Give it a couple more months and talk to your surgeon. If it’s early capsular contracture it would feel very tight and you wouldn’t be able to move the implant upward…

Difficult to say based on the photos so an examination would be more appropriate but you may be having an allergic reaction to the tape or antibiotic. As the stretched nerves wake up it is common to have a burning sensation or hypersensitive nipples. This is nothing to be concerned about. If there is new redness along the incision and/or fevers make sure and let your surgeon know. As far as the shape is concerned you are swollen and the implant is likely going to settle. You honestly are in between needing a lift and not. With a larger high profile implant you would likely still look good. It is difficult to say for sure without an examination. Liposuction will reduce the fat and flatten your abdomen but you will have overhanging skin. A Tummy tuck will give you a flatter appearance and likely a better result. You can always have liposuction first and a tummy tuck at least six months later if you don’t get the results you were hoping for. While photos don’t give us an idea of rectus weakness vs visceral fat, weight loss prior to a tummy tuck may give you optimal results. Best of luckJosh Olson MD
