I sometimes see patients whose nose looked better at cast removal then at one month. Some patients are more prone to swelling. The final result is typically sharper and narrower then the one week result so at this point waiting can help. You can use flexible blenderm tape help with intermittent swelling. I give all my patients a roll of this special 3M tape.

Is it too early to undergo a hair transplant? Which NW class am I?

If your hair loss pattern is not defined, I have seen cases of patients that have had FUE procedures in areas that since have lost hair. Now they have some visible dot like scars that can be visible. One of many reasons it is better to have medical therapy until your hair loss pattern is defined.

After 10 days, most grafts are fixed. However, I understand the itching issue and even as a patient myself I think i scratched out a few grafts. Take heart that typically thousands were implanted so a dozen lost doesn't effect the final outcome.

8 weeks after operation and the donors area is full of pimples and red. It itches.

Buried FUE grafts in the donor area can cause cysts. Essentially the physician attempted to harvest a graft but was unable to. The graft is now pushed below the skin and as it heals it is trying to push to the surface causing a cyst.

Hair follicles can dry during the transplantation process for a number of reasons including:1. Inadequate amount of holding solution not covering the grafts completely.2. Hair transplant technicians placing too many grafts on the back of their gloves that they are placing and letting them dry out. (All to common!)3. During FUE harvest, extracting grafts and leaving them on the scalp.In our experience, the holding solution hypothermasol has been a great benefit to the health our grafts.

Our practice often gets calls with patients panicking because they have fallen sick right before a difficult to plan cosmetic surgery procedure. It is fairly rare to have to cancel a procedure due to a normal cold, cough, or stomach bug. Our centers have a full medical doctor anesthesiologist on site who personally evaluate each patient Unless the patient has a fever, it is luckily rare to have your procedure cancelled since scheduling often can take months of planning.
