Age and breast implants

Advancing age is not a contraindication to breast augmentation. Provided your health is good, there is no reason not to proceed with breast augmentation. Your best bet it to visit with a board certified plastic surgeon.

Breast implants and “fullness”

It seems as though your nipple position is good, well above your crease. In that case an implant alone should be able to return you to the look and feel you desire. A consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon should help you make the best decision as to which implant is best for you.

650 cc breast implant

I THINK that 475cc will be enough and nice for you , because is not a fact of only what you desire is also the risk of strech marks and some other points related to your contexture , back , chest , height etc. I really do not know if your breast is too drop and if you have enough skin to to support a 650cc implant , your doctor should tell you . I know if your decition but is intelligent to study all the goods and the bads before to take your desition because ounce you use a smaller implant , after a bigger implant changing of idea , can change surgical plans

Breast feeding after breast augmentation

If you were destined to breast feed, you will have that ability. However, we do tell patients that breast augmentation can interfere with breast feeding. I had many patients who breast fed after augmentation without any difficulty.
There is no evidence that there is any harm to the baby if you breast fed.

Breast Implants and Pregnancies..

This is a very frequently asked question a lot of women want to know. My honest answer is wait until you are done have children. Reason being, while your pregnant your breast begin to stretch and become full of milk, gets worse after labor.

If you have your surgery done before, your breast will enlarge which may also cause stretch marks but then when done breast feeding, breast will shrink back down. In some cases, now your breast will not be so high up, perky as before.

In a lot of cases, women have to come back afterwards for more surgery to either get a breast lift or larger implants to fill up the extra skin stretched from pregnancies.

Lifting the breast with implants

As you probably can tell, there are very different opinions on this question depending upon who you are talking with. If you really have sagging breasts, with the nipples pointed down, or below the level of the imframammary crease, you will need a breast lift – plain and simple.
If you attempt to treat with this situation with an implant alone, you will end up with larger, sagging breasts. In your situation, with some minimal sagging or inferior displacement of the nipple, it is possible to get away with an implant alone.

However, I would recommend going on top of the muscle. Higher profile implants may help a bit, but not always. This does not so much lift the breast, as fill out the skin envelope. You will by necessity be larger.

My preference in this situation is to use a silicone implant as I feel they stress the overlying tissues less. However, there is always the possibility, or probability, that your breasts may sag or become more loose over time.

Wearing good support in your bras, and avoiding major changes in your weight will help prevent this. The best thing for you is to speak with a board certified plastic surgeon who has a lot of experience with breast lifts and breast implants.
But please remember, if you really need a breast lift, going with implants alone is not a good option. ! David B.

Could I get away with getting breast implants alone or will I need a breast lift also?

Based on your narrative, the best enhancement would be obtained through placement of both implants and a “small” lift in the same operation. The implant will help restore your lost breast volume, while the lift will help position your natural breast tissue over the new implant, while also removing excess skin and elevating your nipple and areola into a more youthful position, and resizing your areola.

As your nipple and areola appear to be at the level of your breast crease, you could have implants alone placed and decide on a lift at a later point in time.

Bra size and breast implants

There is very little correlation of bra size to breast implants as measured in cc. One size bra does not alsoways fit the same as you move across various manufacturers. The best way to determine size is a measurement called breast width.
Your plastic surgeon can help you decide what your breast width is to help you to get a better handle on a size and match that with you expectation.

Breast reduction, lift and augmentation with an implant

This is certainly possible and you should discuss your concerns with your surgeon. The breasts can easily be reduced and lifted followed by augmentation with a small implant.

What can I do to correct my breasts?

First of all, many asymmetries, ptosis and different areola anatomy are common. The degree to which this bothers you and you would like to correct it is the question. Your situation is complex- you do appear to have asymmetry, tuberous constriction, ptosis, etc.

Breast lift with areola reduction, release of constriction and placement of breast implants could much improve the look of your breasts. In fact, silicone cohesive gel breast implants would be an important component of reshaping your breasts as they will help fill out and hold the breast’s reshaped form after the lift.

I recommend that you book a consultation with a board certified Plastic Surgeon who is very experienced in this type of work and can show you before and after photos related to your surgery.

Adding Saline to Implant

Fifty ccs is slightly more than three tablespoons. this should give you an idea of how much difference that you would see. I agree that this probably would not be worth the trouble and expense, but this is something that you must decide for yourself.

Breast lift

Placing a breast implant alone would be unsatisfactory. Performing breast lift without an implant would create an aesthetic breast with very little downtime.
