Doctors who follow rules will only use silicone implants after age 22

There are always reasons behind every rule and regulation. Legally and ethically silicone implants are to be used in women twenty two years of age or older.

Exceptions are for exceptional medical conditions only. Saline implants are safer but feel less natural than silicone gel implants.

My advice is to go ahead and have saline implants now. You may like them enough. In that case you do not need any thing elae. They are safe. If for any reason you do not like their feel you can have them exchanged at age 22 or later.

Best Breast Enhancement Option

With the rise in popularity of plastic surgery and breast enhancement procedures, there always seems to be new non-surgical treatments promising the same results as surgery. However, to date there are no non-surgical treatments that are as effective as a surgical breast enhancement.

In my practice I only offer surgical breast augmentations with implants, as it is the only treatment that provides true, long lasting results.

Breastfeeding with breast implants

It is safe to breast feed after breast augmentation. Some women are unable to breastfeed for a variety of different reasons, but this is typically not related to history of breast augmentation.

High or moderate profile breast implants to get my goal?

In order to approach your goal results I would recommend using a high, or ultra-high, profile of implant. This will allow you to keep the width of the implant to your chest dimensions while supplying the projection and upper breast fullness you want.
Breast implant sugery

The fee for breast implant surgery varies from region to region and from doctor to doctor. The silicone are definitely more expensive than the saline implants.

I’m looking into a breast augmentation. What can I do to fill them out?

You appear to be a good candidate for a breast lift with or without implants (saline or silicone). Consult with a board certified plastic surgeon to discuss your options at length.

What if implants do not settle

The ‘drop’ of the breast implant depends on the ability of the skin envelope to relax in the lower pole and allow the implant to settle and center itself on the nipple. While it is true that it can take two or three months for an implant to ‘drop’ everyone has a limit as to what implant the breast will fit into and look natural.
Our guess is that your implant is just too large, though time will tell.

Is it possible that I can get an augmentation without a breast lift?

Based upon the excellently posted series of photos I believe you need some form of lifting with implants. But ONLY in person opinions count.

Augmentation

Just based upon the photos, it looks like you may only need an augmentation. with your decision to move forward.

Yes this is usually the best way to do BA and have no scars on the breasts

I have performed literally thousands of axillary (endoscopic ) breast augmentations through an armpit incision. The procedure is fantastic as long as the surgeon knows how to perform it right. For those who do not – they will see only problems.
Results speak for themselves. Why would you have scars on your breast if you can avoid it?.

Best option for breast implant placement

Options for placement of breast implants include: IMF (the breast fold) Periareolar (around the pigmented portion surrounding your nipple) Transaxillary (under your arm) Belly Button (through the BB) And, there are two main surgical planes: Above the muscle Below the muscle So how do you decide which approach is best for you? It really depends.

First, the belly button approach is generally frowned upon by most plastic surgeons. If you look at the bulk of surgeons placing implants this way, they are generally not plastic surgeons and are looking at this as a marketing opportunity (e.g.: Look at this new way of placing the implant).

The problem is that this is also an approach where you have the least control over accurate placement of the implant. As such, most well-trained plastic surgeons do not offer this option.

Next, the peri-areolar approach can be an option but is much less popular these days because of evidence pointing to a higher long-term risk for capsular contracture.

In addition, unless the scar heals remarkably well, the scar is on the most obvious portion of your breast.

Finally, the transaxillary approach can be a valid option. The problem is that you also lose a good deal of control over implant placement through this route. In addition, it is much harder to place the pre-filled silicone gel implants this way.

With these considerations in mind, I generally prefer placement of a silicone gel implant through the IMF approach beneath the muscle.

I see great results overall, my patients are happy, and I have very low incidence of capsular contracture.

Mechanical maneuvering of breast implant position almost never works.

When breast implants are properly positioned, they will ultimately assume a natural shape as the swelling that may artificially prop up the implants subsides. This may take as long as several months, getting better as the days pass.

If the implants are positioned too high, only a reoperation will fix this problem.

Too much ptosis for implants alone?

Yes, I think that you have too much ptosis for just implants alone. You will need a lift with the implants.

Implant placement vis-a-vis exercise

I recommend placing the implants partially or fully under the muscle. In a fit patient, this avoids the “edge” feeling–I am assuming that you have a low BMI and are thin. Implants do not move and this is not a consideration.

In any case, you should refrain from exercise for several weeks following surgery subject to your plastic surgeon’s recommendations.

Breast implant settling and size

depending upon your degree of swelling right now, your implants may seem a little smaller as they settle into place, which usually occurs within the first 6 months after surgery. They generally do not appear to be larger after this period.

However, 450 cc is a fairly large implant when used in combination with a breast lift, so based on your stated size now, you should certainly be able to achieve a large C or small D with the current implants (depending upon the specific bra manufacturer, of course).

When you visit your plastic surgeon at your next visit, take a look at your before photos; many patients forget their pre-operative appearance, and you will probably be pleasantly surprised by the difference.
