Implant dentists in the UK usually charge between £1000 – £1250 to place a single implant. The cost to restore an implant is between £850 – £1500. The total cost , therefore, is between £1850 – £2750.
Is there any way to whiten veneers?
Veneers cannot be whitened
Jun 23, 2009
No, veneers cannot be whitened. Your dentist should try to determine why they have got darker, especially if they were fitted recently. Depending on the reason, whitening the underlying tooth may be possibility.
Do all teeth whitening treatments work on crowns or colored fillings?
Crowns and fillings cannot be whitened
May 25, 2009
Whitening treatments do not affect the colour of fillings or crowns, they only whitening the natural tooth surface. Your dentist should make you aware of this, especially if you have may crowns or tooth-coloured fillings at the front. Crowns and white fillings can, however, be changed after whitening treatment to match your newly whitened teeth.
Cost of dental implants?
Smile make over cost in UK
Apr 24, 2009
In the UK, an implant, abutment and crown costs in the region of £2000.
If, however, you have many missing teeth, you will probably not need an implant for each missing tooth. This will also reduce the number of abutments that are needed. A discount may also be availabe when placing multiple implants. It really depends on what teeth are missing and how many implants will be needed to restore the spaces as to the total cost.
Can I keep my gap if I get veneers?
Veneers will allow you to keep your gap
Apr 9, 2009
Yes, definitely. Before having the treatment you should discuss this with your dentist.
Usually, the dentist will make a wax-ups after this discussion. These are models of your teeth with wax veneers on the front 4 teeth. This will allow you to see how the veneers will look and you can comment on the shape, size and position of the veneers as well as the size of the gap.
The veneers can then be made to the same profile as the wax-ups if you are happy with their shape and the gap….
Will overbite and teeth crowding weaken teeth?
What do you mean by “filing?”
Dec 2, 2008
Having an overbite with crowding does not weaken teeth but crowded teeth are more likely to trap food which can result in decay. Generally, the best way to correct both an overbite and crowding is by orthodontic treatment. If the teeth are simply “filed” to correct the overbite, this will remove enamel which may expose the dentine, making the teeth sensitive and more prone to decay. It will also alter the height:width ratio of the teeth (ie. the teeth may look short and wide), resulting…
