Thank you for your question brownies123! All of the symptoms that you are experiencing are most due to inflammation especially if a capsule was also removed. This is very typical of Explantation surgery. Be sure to follow up with your performing surgeon for post-op examination.
March 30th I had 320cc implants removed and a lift. The recovery has been good, I have some concerns.

He/She will be able to give you a thorough examination, and also discuss the techniques that were used during your surgery. After about 4 months your swelling should have gone down some, at that time have your PS exam your breast, at that time additional fat may be injected into the smaller side. Thank you for your question. This is a very legitimate question and concern for many patients after implant removal. Some excess skin may be present after the procedure, but this also depends on the amount of breast tissue you have remaining. A breast lift with a smaller implant is a great option for removing excess skin and achieving some fullness that is lost after explantation especially if you are left with minimal breast tissue. Thank you for your question. If just an Implant Removal Local anesthetic is sufficient. But if an Implant Removal with Capsulectomy is performed General anesthesia is highly suggested. Most women receive general anesthesia for this surgery. Breast implant surgery can last from one to several hours depending on the procedure and personal circumstance.

But if you have had the same implants in since 1989 and you are feeling some firmness, your have most likely developed a capsular contracture which would require the use of general anesthesia.
