Can orbital rim implants rupture and would blindness result?

Thank you for your question. Facial implants in general are made from silicone, of firm consistency, strong and supportive. The most important potential risk is infection and so a post operative prophylactic course of antibiotics is recommended (and having a patient who is a non-smoker). Although one can never say never, the implant really shouldn’t rupture or split.

Thank you for your question. Upper Lid Blepharoplasty is commonly undertaken as a local anaesthetic procedure, however due to your underlying history SVT adrenaline should be avoided. A careful, controlled approach should really make this safe to manage. **blood thinning medication would be much more of a concern**. Do please double check with your Cardiologist their view prior to booking with your Plastic Surgeon, with very best wishes.

Thank you for your question. From the photographs there seems to be a reasonable degree of skin that need addressing, the excess is covering the tarsal plate and now sitting upon your eyelashes!

Thank you for your question. Reviewing your photographs, it would be exceptionally difficult to make your larger left eye appear smaller. Everyone will have some degree of natural asymmetry, but in your case to try and achieve greater balance, one would be inclined to remove some skin from the right upper lid, however this would make the Right eye Larger! It maybe worth taking the time to meet with a Plastic Surgeon for formal review and guidance. Best wishes…

Thank you for your question, to remove the skin excess would be of benefit but as you’ve quite rightly eluded to, your eyes are relatively deep set, so NO fat needs to be removed.
The bony orbit will always play a part in the overall results, but this is normal and natural for you. After surgery one could consider a small multiple boluses of HA filler, with a “walk the rim, feel the bone” approach, injected carefully in a controlled fashion.

Thank you for your question, the excess at this stage looks relatively mild on the photo. One could consider the use of Botox to essentially create a chemical brow lift and open up the eyes. RF treatment results are really quite variable in this situation but will do no harm to try, and not burn any bridges for surgery in the future.

Thank you for your question and photos, my impression is that you wish to have some tip refinement. To inject filler in your case may be able to trick the eye for the short term but ultimately I think you would benefit from a surgical rhinoplasty. (Filler will also most likely further exaggerate your prominence).
