How Do I Know if I Have an Infection After Revision Rhinoplasty?
Infection after nasal reconstruction
Oct 19, 2018
Thank you for your question. In general the signs of infection are inflammation, discharge or pain. I lump would not necessarily indicate infection. Whilst it is unlikely that you have infection, it is serious and so if you have any doubts then I would see your surgical team.
Will Botox help to shrink my temporalis muscles?
Temporalis muscle
Sep 17, 2018
Great question. The answer is yes probably. Whilst it’s not the main reason for injecting this site (usually one of the areas injected in migraine sufferers), it does tend to occur.
I would also rate you that none of my patients have noted loss of strength of bite. The muscle is one used in eating.

Good luck.

How long do stitches take to dissolve post labiaplasty? Period worries!
Stitches
Sep 10, 2018
Thank you.
It really does depend upon which sutures have been used.
Bear in mind , it is always a balance between using sutures which are strong enough to hold the wound together until it gains enough strength and ones that don’t hang around too long. Your surgical team or the hospital can advise precisely but in general they will dissolve by two/ three weeks.
Hygiene is important. I generally advise gentle douching with a shower and dabbing dry. Do…
I have been considering reshaping my breasts, do I have tubular breast deformity?
Tubular breasts
Sep 3, 2018
Thank you for your question and providing pictures.
Tubular breast is a spectrum ranging from slight restriction to full tubular. The first thing to say is that you do not have tubular breasts pe se. That said there is certainly an element of restriction and by this is meant that the nipple areolar complex is large and the distance from it to the inframammary fold is short. This will have an impact on the techniques that would be used for any cosmetic surgery. For…
2 weeks post rhinoplasty, mid nose is crooked and not resting midline. Should I be concerned?
Crooked nose
Aug 2, 2018
It is early days. There will be considerable swelling at this stage and that swelling can appear asymmetrical. Although all the selling will take a year or even two to go, you should get a fair idea of where you’re heading at three months. That is the time to raise concerns. Try not to worry at this stage.
Diced cartilage for rebuilding a nose: good or bad?
Diced cartilage
Aug 1, 2018
Thank you for you question.
Certainly, diced cartilage can be an excellent and most natural way to build up the dorsum of the nose. Usually it is wrapped in tissue that is taken from the scalp forming a sausage. The great thing is that it is natural.
Would you recommend a partial or total capsulectomy for removal of 17 yr old implants?
Total or full capsulectomy
Jul 30, 2018
Thank you for your question.
The first thing to say is that there is no hard and fast answer to this question and little scientific data to support one way or other. That said I almost always perform a full capsulectomy. To my mind it doesn’t make any sense to leave a hard capsule in place, that could potentially cause ongoing problems such as discomfort or distortion. It is certainly a more invasive and longer procedure but to not remove all that is possible is laziness on…
