After earning his medical degree at the University of Wisconsin, Dr. Rodriguez went on to attend Tulane University in New Orleans, to complete his five-year general surgery residency. This was followed by a head and neck surgery fellowship in London at the Royal Marsden Hospital, and a plastic surgery residency at Yale Medical School.

Dr. Rodriguez was asked to join the staff at Yale and became a professor of plastic surgery, teaching cosmetic and reconstructive surgery. During his tenure, he was involved in artificial skin research and wound care research. He also traveled to France and England to train with internationally renowned plastic surgeons and learn innovative techniques.

Dr. Rodriguez is board-certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS). He also served as President of the Maryland State Society of Plastic Surgeons, and was honored by ASPS with the “Distinguished Service Award.”

During the course of his 33-year career, Dr. Rodriguez has been invited to lecture at various conferences throughout the country and overseas, and has been published in numerous medical journals. He was chosen to be on the prestigious editorial board of the Plastic Surgery Educational Network in 2015 and currently serves on RealSelf’s Medical Advisory Board.

Without examination it is hard to tell if you could have a separated rectus diastasis muscle, but you don't appear to have much loose skin. You have very little fat in the abdomen. My first advice is to look at the quote to see if it has Liposuction included. In most practices, Lipo of the flanks is included as a seperate line item. For example a patient having a straight TT is one hour less surgery time than a patient having a TT and Lipo to the Flanks. The lipo would have a seperate charge and longer OR time.
You should also ask to look at the Operative Note. It may be that he did do a tiny bit of Lipo, but not enough that you can see the difference? Just a guess...

You can definitely still have a Tummy Tuck if you want to have kids. However, we would not want you to get pregnant for many months after the procedure. Ideally wait a year.
Over my 30 years in practice, I have had 2 patients get pregnant before the 4 month post op period. It was no danger to the baby. The only issue was that the incisions had not yet had time to completely heal. As I remember it, one patient had a scar revision a couple of years later.

Based on the photos it does seem like you don't need a Tummy Tuck. But only an examination could say for sure. With the question of Lipo, the photos are highly cropped so it is hard to determine because I can not see your entire torso.

Hello,
With the Extended Tummy Tuck , the surgeon will remove skin and tissue more laterally (at the hip bone). This has the beneficial affect of lifting and slenderizing the outer thigh. I perform a lot of Extended Tummy Tucks in my practice.

IMO, you can't really go wrong with the Extended Tummy Tuck.
It does cost more , mainly because it takes a little more time in the Operating Room, but it does produce the leanest profile.

You may benefit from skin removal to tighten the abdomen. This is part of the tummy tuck procedure. The other benefit of a tummy tuck is that it will tighten the rectus diastasis muscle to make the stomach flatter.

Thank you for your question. You should expect to have post op pain for the first week following surgery. This can be greatly managed with the use of an Exparel block (given at the time of surgery) which will numb the area for up to 3 days. In my practice, we also prescribe narcotics for pain .
