Dr Sanjay Grover Breast Augmentation Prices
Breast augmentation with implants is very safe and effective. Complications are rare, rupture will occur because any man-made items will degrade with time. Fat grafting (stem cells) are still investigational, though they are being performed around the country, for breast augmentation. There are trials going on to determine whether they are safe in the long term. If you are in a rush, I would wait, for the time being, but if indications are correct, it will be another way to augment breasts in the (near) future.
Breast Implant sagging VS “bottoming out”
One of the potential complications of placing the implant in an under the breast fold incision is bottoming out – the implant raises the incision and “water hammers” itself progressively lower. Ideally the incision is placed where the surgeon envisions the new infra mammary breast fold, downward traction during and after surgery combined with a large implant and over-dissection (IE large pocket creation) sideways) are likely to create a bottoming out scenario. You will require another operation with breast pocket adjustments.
Size
I would suggest meeting with a board certified plastic surgeon and discussing all your concerns. You will be measured and can try on a range of implants that best suites your frame and tissue. Your surgeon will help guide you in the best size and style implant for you.
Breast implants
The way I like to do breast augmentation is with sizers. I have a cup size or photo from the patient and then by using sizers I can see which implant will give the size my patient wants.
Stuffing implants or rice bags under a bra is not an accurate way of determining implant size.
Rippling of Breast Implants
Rippling is one problem I do not worry about in breast implants, since normal breast tissue “ripples,” due to the ligamentous structure of the breasts. What I worry about in someone like you is the feel of the implant.
Silicone implants have a viscosity much closer to normal fat than do saline ones. They, therefore, feel more natural through your thin overlying tissues. I do not advise overfilled implants, as these feel firm no matter what fills them.
Full C Cup Breast Implants
Implants are measured by volume, not cup size, which can be confusing. Every woman’s body is different, so what looks like a C cup result on one woman might look like a B cup on another, even though the implants were the exact same volume for each.
The best breast augmentation results are going to be customized to your existing frame. As a breast augmentation specialist, I hear this confusion a lot. I’d suggest collecting several photos to bring to your consultation.
This will give your surgeon an idea of your appearance goals. Your surgeon is able to translate those images into an implant size that will give you the right results.
You can also try “sizers” that let you try on an implant size before surgery, or go to a surgeon who utilizes 3D imaging to get an idea of how different implant sizes will fit your frame.
Ruptured Saline Implants
When a saline implant ruptures, the saltwater contained in the implant is absorbed by the surrounding tissue. The pocket that the implant is in will then shrink down to a size closer to the volume of the deflated implant.
When the saline implant deflates, the breast develops are more flattened appearance and it is quite obvious what has happened. If you experience a deflation, it is important to immediately contact your plastic surgeon. This will allow your surgeon to plan removal and replacement soon thereafter.
The longer you wait, the more the implant pocket will collapse. This will then require more work to reestablish the pocket. If you left a deflated implant in your body indefinitely it should not affect your health.
Aside from the cosmetic change, there should be no other health hazard associated with leaving a deflated breast implant in your body indefinitely.
I would recommend revision after 3 months if needed
Your right implant pocket is too high and too tight. You will need revision because of the implant position and lack lower breast pole expantion.
Plastic surgery across the border
As a San Diego based surgeon I can tell you that while there are some qualified surgeons across the border, a lot of times patients who have complications and need immediate attention are treated by US doctors who then have to take care of these complications.
Not LIkely
Many studies have been done regarding silicone gel filled implants and toxicity. None has linked silicone with any specific diseases. It is interesting that you have had the implants for 19 years and are now getting sick.
The time line does not really compute. You should look for all sources of illness, and don’t just focus on the implants. You wouldn’t want to miss something.
Why the BIGGEST breast implants are not advised
In the 50’s, there were thousands of country wide competitions on how many frat boys could be stuffed in a phone booth or in a Volkswagen beetle (more fit then than would these days with rampant obesity.).
That proud nonsensical tradition of “pushing the envelope” (literally…) is continued by some surgeons who, clearly without their trusting patients’ best long-term interests at heart, do stuff the largest breast implants physically possible in some misinformed patients.
A GREAT LOOKING BREAST AUGMENTATION depends on obtaining as much soft tissue cover over the implants as possible. Without it, the implant shell and all its folds / ripples would be visible and palpable. That is why breast implants, whenever possible, should be placed under the muscle – to get additional soft tissue cover.
If you do not have much breast tissue to act as cover, you should consider silicone filled breast implants (ripple less and weigh less than saline) and compromise on the size you can have. Additionally, the degree of your chest flatness or plateau would largely dictate what would look good on you.
Most women’s chests taper and slope sideways. As a result, large breast implants (which ALWAYS have a wide base / foot print) often slide off the sides of the chest and “do battle” with your arms as they move forward.
Lastly, the heavier a breast implant is, the more it will permanently thin the overlying breast and skin and the faster the breasts will droop / sag requiring repeated Breast Lift (Mastopexy) procedures to shortly restore them to a youthful position.
In short, while you may ask for a “giganto-normous” implants, the Plastic surgeon who refused you actually did you a favor by not taking your money and permanently destroyed you with such implants. You may not be as lucky with the next surgeon.
Which cup size should I go with?
Based only on your height and weight, those sound like they might be reasonable sizes, but then again they may not. No surgeon can answer that question with any specificity without an exam.
Saline vs Silicone
I agree with the answers provided with my colleagues below. As a revisionary breast specialist, I have found that you eliminate two major complications by choosing a silicone implants: implant wrinkling and deflation. Silicone implants feel better and last longer.
For those reasons, most plastic surgeons prefere silicone implants.
Your breasts can be lifted with implants and with minimal scarring around the areolae
Your breasts appear as though you would get an excellent result with a periareolar lift with saline or silicone implants. Your areolae will also be reduced in size. In order to get a good result, I would first place the implants underneath your chest muscles and then move the skin and areolae up over the implant for improved symmetry and position.
You may need a small vertical incision below the areola in order to get a great result, but these scars typically heal very well. Going huge with the implants may require a lift first then the implants, but if you want to be a moderate size then both procedures can be done together.
Implants too large
Even though 450cc implants are large, you have a component of swelling in the early post op period which is contributing to the appearance. The implants also will appear somewhat smaller as the muscle relaxes and they drop a little.
That can take a few months to complete. Massage can help with this.
