Thank you for your question.  Swelling fo your legs can occur due to abnormal accumulation of extracellular fluid in the tissues of the lower extremity. Causes of leg swelling include salt retention, cellulitis, congestive heart failure, venous insufficiency, pregnancy, and medication side effects. It is important that you see a cardiologist before you undergo the procedure for a work up and a clearance.

The answer to your question is "yes' but it is very important to know if you have had lipo in that area already or not. If you have, you should let your surgeon know this fact.  It also depends on the surgeons exam and assessment of how much  fat is still in that area, and, most importantly the LOCATION of that fat.  Is the fat above (can be suctioned) vs. below (cannot be suctioned visceral fat) the muscle.  good luck with your research!

You need to wait at least 6 months before making the determination of "fat vs swelling".  I have all my patients weigh themselves weekly.  Swelling weight should come off at a rate of a pound or two a month.   Be patient, and then see your surgeon afterwards if you still have concerns.

Thanks for your question.  A tummy tuck will be good for you AFTER a significant reduction int he visceral fat underneath your muscles.  The reason for this is that it is difficult for us to tighten together your muscles under your skin with the fat underneath pushing outwards.  Timing your surgery for when you are in the best possible shape, body mass index, and level of visceral fat is very important.

Depending on your particular situation, you can certainly get this procedure with no drains.  I never use drains for breast lifts, so you don't have to worry about that.  I have performed thousands, and have never encountered an issue without using a drain.  The abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) there is a way to do the procedure using PROGRESSIVE TENSION SUTURES instead of a drain that can work very well on select patients.  The best way to know for sure is to submit pictures or come in for a c...

65, in my experience, is not too old, if you are physiologically healthy.  I have many patients in their 60s seek cosmetic enhancements.  we do have a cut off for out patient surgery of 70 years old. I would say you would require a tummy tuck. You have some loose skin that could get worse with liposuction, and you would not achieve a "flat" abdomen. Another major factor with your abdomen is rectus muscle looseness. Liposuction does not address this. If you really want a flat abdomen, a tummy tuck is the way to go.

The sharp pains that feel like electric shocks are usually due to nerve regeneration after stretching. They will subside over time. Desensitization exercises like massage help, and I occasionally prescribe medications that help calm the nerve impulses. As you can see from all the answers that all plastic surgeons agree that you are jumping the gun a little too early! I would suggest to stop analyzing the way things look right now, stop looking at the results in the mirror, and be patient. Things will look 100% different every week! Give it at least 3-6 months before you start worrying about the results. And make sure to follow up with your doctor regularly.

Possibiliteis include: seroma, capsular contracture or rupture.

I would see your plastic surgeon as soon as possible for a diagnosis. A physical exam is essential in your case.

The answer is IT TOTALLY DEPENDS ON YOUR BODY TYPE.

Some people do not need a full tummy tuck. If you only have a minimal amount of skin on the lower portion of the abdomen, no muscle diastasis (separation), and a good weight for height (BMI), a mini tummy tuck may work.

In general, the additional steps taken during a full tummy tuck does provide better results in the long run.

Plastic surgery is usually paid for in full before the procedure is done. However, with financing, you can pay in installments after surgery. Just like any credit plan, there will be financing and interest charges. At our office we accept Care Credit and many other financing plans. Of course, getting financing depends on your credit.
