Good impants available now

The round silicone implants used now have a lot of advantages, the main one being that they feel very natural. Some people are waiting for approval of the form-stable implants, popularly called “gummy bear” implants.

There is a bit of confusion here because they are also called “cohesive” implants which means that the gel holds together even when the implant is cut open; the reason it is confusing is that the gel used now is also cohesive, just softer.

There are a few instances where the form-stable implants may be advantageous in terms of shape, but there are important trafe-offs such as the need for a larger incision (scar) and the fact that they are quite firm.

So even when they are released, I think most people will still chose the round implants that are available now.

Saline v silicone

The majority of my patients prefer silicone. They feel more natural. And there is a lo9t less rippling than with saline. Otherwise they tend to look the same.

Breast augmentation plus or minus lifting

You have enough downward descent of the nipple that without a lift you will look matronly with just an implant in my opinion. One way patients like you can have a nice result with less worry about eventual breast feeding issues is to have submuscular implants placed through the crease and have a skin only periareolar mastopexy so the scar is only around the nipple but the subtle lift you need is achieved.
Breast implant willnever feel natural since they are not natural

The look of natural breast can be replicated with implant,but the feel of natural breast can not be replicated by the implant since implants are man made. The results of the breast augmentation can mimic natural breast but not 100%.

The combination of the fat grafting and implant is a great option for patients with minimal soft tissue coverage ,but you can still feel the implant. The only way to get the feel of the natural breast is by fat grafting alone(breast are up to 70% fat), but the limitation is the size.

Breast implants for a thin woman

As long as a proper implant is chosen you can have a natural look from a breast augmentation. Basically the larger the implant you go with the less natural your breasts will look and feel for that matter.
All things considered I think you would be a great candidate for a moderate profile gel implant placed in the sub-muscular position. I encourage you to visit the websites of plastic surgeons you will see and look for patients that look like you.

Breast Implants and Cancer

This has been looked at by many to determine just that. There is NO link with breast implants and cancer or delaying the diagnosis of cancer. When the breast implant is place behind the muscle, some feel that it may enhance the visualization of the breast tissue during mammography.

Smoking Restrictions Before Breast Augmentation

It would be in your best interest to cease from smoking for a week or two before elective surgery such as breast augmentation. While smoking is not known to adversely effect the healing from the placement of submuscular breast implants, it is certainly not an asset t t achieving the best result possible.
In addition, it is well known to be detrimental to pulmonary function when unergoing a general anesthetic.

Cost of Silicone Breast Implants

The basic cost of silicone breast implants is about twice the cost of saline implants. This represents the cost of the implants alone. The total cost of the surgery will vary widely, depending upon the region of the country, operating room site, etc.

For example, the total cost of the surgery in Louisville is probably about 50% of the cost in New York City.

The perfect implant size

There is barely a noticeable difference between 300 and 325 cc. You should try on implants and see if you can appreciate a difference – make sure whoever is doing the sizing does not tell you which is which.
325 cc should not put you over the edge. Generally the belief is that women get modest during sizing, then wish they went with a little larger implant. Either way I think you should have a nice result.

Based solely on your photographs, I think some degree of lifting in addition to the augmentation will give you a better result.

Leaking saline implants are often obvious

When a saline implant begins to leak, it is often quite obvious. There is usally a marked diifference in the size of both breasts. If you are not sure, I would talk to your Plastic surgeon.

The taste of saline in the back of your throat is unrelated to implant leakage. Exercise is fine.

Probably same size

I cant tell for sure without examining you but think about it this way. Lets say your right breast is 250cc and your left is 150 – that is a 100cc difference making the right almost twice as big as the left.
Now you put in 450cc implants into both — the r becomes 700cc and the left 600cc — still a 100cc difference — but now it is more like a 15% difference. So, I think in general — unless there is a very large pre op difference, I go with the same size in both.

At one week it looks like you’re doing very well. The size of your implants is placing tension on your skin and over time you should see skin relaxation, settling and a more natural contour.
