This sounds like a postoperative infection. I would recommend you call your treating surgeon for him or her to take a look. Infections occurring at this juncture are commonly the result of food entrapment or a bone spicule. Fortunately, they are largely easily resolved with a washout, antibiotics and close follow-up.
