I have developed pitted acne scars 6 months after completing my Accutane course. They are growing
Accutane is a two edge sword
Aug 6, 2017
Accutane works because it makes your oil glands become much, much smaller or not working. When your skin is dry, there is NO INCENTIVE for the acne bacteria to stay because it will not be able to survive without its food – your oil. However, Accutane also messes up wound healing. While there is no clinical research to support my allegation, I personally believe it so. I have seen so many acne scars that I can almost point with 85% accuracy who had Accutane from the look of their scars….

Go back to your doctor
Aug 6, 2017
Go back to your doctor to make sure your injuries are not infected. Keep it balmed up all the time Your skin type requires the UTMOST knowledge of what laser settings can be safely and effectively used. As far as the darkening goes, it should improve over time as long as you don’t pick on them and not exposed to the sun.
Good luck.
Acne scar treatment? I’m not sure what treatments you can recommend. I had Fraxel three years ago
You need multi-pronged treatments
Aug 6, 2017
Acne scars are STRUCTURAL damage in some or all layers of the skin. Whether the scars are box car, ice pick (most people call large pores) or rolling scars, all of them are challenging to treat. The most important thing to understand is that before you had the scars, you had a bad acne infection that most likely persisted for years and that this acne infection literally dissolved your skin away, leaving the scars you see now. So the challenge is how to get back the…
Can shallow box scars be remove completly?
Box car scars can be removed completely for Grade 1-2
Jul 23, 2017
If your scars are Grade 1-2, removing them completely with an acid, microneedling or laser is easy. If they are Grade 3-4, you may need several laser treatments that will need to be repeated every 3 months over a period of 2 – 3 years to make them go away completely, PROVIDED these scars are not tethered to the underlying skin structures.

Ice pick scars
Jul 23, 2017
More than 90% of your scars are ice pick with a few scattered box car scars. LASER technology is NOT the first treatment of choice for ice pick scars. In order to understand why, you need to know the anatomy of the ice pick scars and you need to know how lasers work. Ice pick scars are long, tubular hollows that end at the surface of the skin looking like large pores. The walls of these tubes are steep like canyons. They are perpendicular to the skin surface. Lasers emit a very straight…
How much improvement could I realistically expect to see with radio frequency therapy and/or a las
Active acne and scars combo
Jul 23, 2017
Treating acne scars while still in the active acne infection state is a wise thing to do. The basis for this is two fold: 1. drastically reduce the acne breakouts which will directly reduce the potential scars and 2. improve the scars while they are still “pliable”. When the scars have not fully matured yet, the ability of your body to repair something that is still in its formative stage will be much better versus repairing the scars when they are already fully matured.
Acne scars are…
I need advice on how to diminish acne scars with surgery, any suggestions?
Mostly box car and ice pick with some rolling
Jul 23, 2017
Acne scars are STRUCTURAL skin damage that affects the
epidermis, the papillary dermis, the reticular dermis and most often the
subcutaneous tissue (the fatty layer of the skin) if the acne that caused
the scars is of the nodulo-cystic type. Whether the scars are box car,
ice pick (most people call large pores) or rolling scars variety, it matters
little. The most important thing to consider is that where the scars are, the skin
is gone and replaced with an abnormal collection of…
