Does the deep plane facelift technique moves both the skin and the muscle together so there’s no separ
Deep plane facelift
Dec 16, 2018
Thanks for your question. The deep plane facelift is an older technique where the main dissection is done below the level of the muscle. Very few people do this technique because it is more invasive and has a chance for higher complications. The next technique is called SMAS.  This is more common even today. Last, there is a technique where only the skin is lifted (think “lunch-time lift” and threads) but the issue is that this technique, while quicker, does not last like a proper facel…
How long is it safe to be under anesthesia during a mommy makeover?
Anesthesia time
Dec 2, 2018
Thank you for your question. I think your question is two-fold: first it seems like you are wondering about the variation in the time of surgery from surgeon to surgeon. Second, is your question about complications for extended times under anesthesia. Last, please understand that the term mommy makeover is more of a concept rather than a strict definition of procedures that are included in that term.  With regards to the time it takes surgeons to do procedures, every surgeon is diff…
Am I a good candidate for a mini, modified or full tummy tuck? I really want to keep my belly button!
Belly button float
Oct 28, 2018
You may be a good candidate for the belly button float (umbilical float). In this technique you can achieve the same level of tightening as a full except that the belly button is not cut away from the skin. This technique is only good for people who don’t have a lot of excess skin but need the full abdominal tightening. See a plastic surgeon to see if you are a candidate for this technique and that has the experience to perform this technique.
Facial Microcurrent: Do They Work Like a Facelift?
microcurrent facelift
Jul 10, 2018
This is an unproven method and I would be wary of spending money for that. A facelift has definitive surgical outcomes that have a predictable longevity. The entire facelift procedure is based in anatomy. Elevate the understructures to their youthful location, volumize and highlight cheeekbones, define jawline and remove redundant tissue. Half effort is half result and worse, a total waste of your hard earned money. Visit with a board certified plastic surgeon to get real answers.
Which procedure would be best for me: Facelift or croton peel?
Peel vs Facelift
Jul 10, 2018
In my mind, there is no question that you need a facelift which includes the neck. Peels are superficial and improve the quality and texture of the skin. It will do absolutely nothing for the jowls, separation in neck muscle which is evident in your neck bands and aging midface. Consider solving the main issues first before deciding to undergo ancillary peels and laser which will not have a lasting effect for you. I have done laser and facelifts together with great results. I always tell …
Love my TT hate my inner thigh Lipo. Why are my inner thighs wicked hard and crepey?
Hard lumps after Liposuction
Apr 10, 2018
I understand your concerns. Usually, the hard lumps will just resolve on their own. The hard lumps can be pieces of fat that slowly die or retained blood that hardens up like a scab. In both conditions, time will solve these issues. As for the skin, I would encourage you just wait for the hard lumps to go away and address the skin after other things have resolved. Undertaking more procedures prematurely is not only expensive but in many instances. unnecessary.
What can I do to my high cheekbones?
High Cheekbones
Apr 7, 2018
Hi cheekbones can be achieved using either cheek implants or temporarily with filler. Some of my patients start with fillers just to see if they like the look. If they do, they then proceed to have a cheek Implant.

Chin implant
Apr 7, 2018
I think at this point, it’s too early to tell what your final result is going to be. I would definitely speak with your plastic surgeon and relay your concerns. If you feel that you are not able to get the answers that satisfy you, I would recommend a second opinion. However, at this time it really is too early to tell given that you just had surgery.
Am I ready for a TT yet or do I need to lose more?
Tummy tuck after weight loss
Mar 4, 2018
First congratulations on the weight loss! Huge accomplishment! First question to ask yourself is, is your weight fairly stable? Second, plastics surgeons will evaluate your skin AND core. Because of the amount of weight you have lost your core (body wall) is loose and no amount of exercise will tighten that up. Third, your skin is overstretched and has lost elasticity and that results in excess skin. Also, most people who have extra skin have it 360 degrees and are better candidates for a …
Is a tummy tuck possible if I weigh 260lbs?
Tummy Tuck
Feb 21, 2018
From the pictures that you have submitted, you are a good candidate for a tummy tuck or panniculectomy. One caveat is that as your body mass index increases above 30, your complication rate goes up. It’s always better to be at goal weight, but not always possible for most. Sometimes just having the procedure and removing the overhanging tissue is helpful to increase your level of activity and provide a boost to losing weight. It’s best to visit with a board certified plastic surgeon to ge…
Breast augmentation rupture?
Breast implant rupture
Jan 23, 2018
Most plastic surgeons would see you. Some may charge a consult fee for their expertise and staff time. If the implant is saline the rupture would be immediately noticeable. If the rupture is silicone then you may need an ultrasound or MRI to diagnose it. Either way it all starts at the in-person exam with a board certified plastic surgeon. You may not need anything at all and can save unnecessary treatment or surgery.
Super extended tummy tuck or lower body lift?
Lower body lift vs extended abdominoplasty
Jan 21, 2018
Thank you for your question. First, let’s be clear about terminology. Words like “super” “uber” “360” are all marketing words not something standard that means the same thing to all plastic surgeons. A tummy tuck (abdominoplasty) is first and foremost tightening of the muscles in the front, usually from hip bone to hip bone. So it only flattens the front leaving patients like you with extra skin in the area of “love handles”. Anything extended refers to removing only excess skin us…
I had a tummy tuck on September 2nd and its opening?
Wound open
Jan 20, 2018
Opening of a wound is not normal, but it happens. This forum will not be helpful. You should see your surgeon immediately. This is the very reason why choosing a board certified plastic surgeon is critical. They will address this issue in person after an exam.
What type of facelift properly addresses the marionette lines and jowls?
Types of facelifts
Jan 19, 2018
Thanks for your question. In short, facelifts used to be be much more invasive than they are today.  The longest lasting, best looking results occurs when skin is not stretched awkwardly. That eliminates the “lunchtime” and quick lift.  Half surgery is half result. They key is that the tissue should be returned in the direction from where they came and the skin is just naturally draped removing the excess skin..not pulled. Techniques may vary a bit, but surgery is based on prin…

Procedure After Gastric Bypass
Jan 12, 2018
Without a doubt you should start with a body lift. This will lift and get rid of all the extra skin, your tummy gets flat and buttock and thighs lifted all in one procedure. Make sure to visit with a board certified plastic surgeon.
