Could Minoxidil be used as a scar treatment?
Minoxidil for scar
Dec 5, 2018
Hi Michelle,
I am aware of no evidence that minoxidil improves scar appearance. The evidence based treatments are factors careful surgery, comorbidity control, silicone, steroid, 5FU etc.
I did a brief search to see if this has been investigated however this does not seem to have been done or at least published. Its a good potential research project however!
Should I go for 365cc or 405cc implants?
Sizing
Nov 16, 2018
40cc of volume difference with a BWD of 11.6cm leads to subtle projection changes. Have you used the sizing implant tools or Cristalix 3D camera imaging? These will be the best way to help decide. Trying on different clothes with these sizes and having friends and family will certainly help you in the decision process.
Wrinkley Skin on Upper Arms?
Brachioplasty
Nov 16, 2018
Although photo shows only a small section of you arms, I can see the static excess skin present. I suspect a medial brachioplasty will be the best option in terms of outcome. Non-surgical methods are likely to lead to disappointment in my experience.
What would be the best laser to treat a semi fresh (1 month old) curling iron b
Pulsed dye laser
Nov 9, 2018
I suspect from the photo that this was a deep dermal burn and you have been left with a vivid erythema following healing. Vascular laser will help with the redness and other issues such as itching or sensitivity. I use the pulsed dye laser (585) and see a real benefit in our patients, although this may require several sessions a monthly intervals.
Two weeks after fractional laser. Is this normal? How can I fix this texture??
Fractional Laser redness
Nov 9, 2018
Redness and textural changes in the skin are essentially a normal part of the healing process following fractional laser and this should resolve and fade with time. I often find the use of a mild steroid ointment such as 0.5% or 1% hydrocortisone cream at night helps significantly with these post procedure issues. This should only be used for 3 weeks. Combined with regular use of emollients and I would suggest ‘Biafine’.
