Is it more likely for my breasts to grow back after reduction when I have it in
Maybe
Jan 12, 2019
Large breasts are often inherited. The other thing to consider is that breasts grow and shrink duting various stages of life.
They start growing at puberty. Typically this growth is complete by the age of 22-years. They grow further during pregnancy and breast feeding.
After breast feeding has completed, the breasts shrink (and can often droop, unfortunately).
They can shrink and droop further at menopause.
Weight gain and loss can also increase and decrease the size of the breasts (a lot of…
I had horrible necrosis after breast reduction surgery, could allergy to adhesi
Probably not just due to adhesive dressings
Jan 12, 2019
Hi there, sounds like you have been through a lot, and I hope things are settling.
I don’t think this will just be due to the sticky dressings. Skin necrosis is due to factors such as high tension on the sutures – this can be due to thigs like swelling, haematoma, fat necrosis, or tense closure at the time of surgery – difficult to tell what might have contributed in your case.
If you are allergic to certain adhesive dressings (or sutures), as well as the above, this might have…
Can I be a professional tennis player after septorhinoplasty? Could excessive m
The short answer is ‘Yes’
Jan 12, 2019
Yes, you can very safely have a rhinoplasty as a professional sportsperson (including tennis). The main issue is with protecting the nose after surgery. I often break the bones and reset them to achieve the new shape. These bones will be very fragile for the first few weeks, so even a relatively light impact can re-break them. This is more of an issue with contact sports, so tennis is relatively safe in this respect.
As for the tip re-drooping because of excess movement, I really don’t…
Why is One of my Nostrils Bigger Than the Other, but Yet I Don’t Have Breathing
Your nostrils are sisters not twins!
Aug 7, 2018
A little difference between the nostrils is very common, and very normal.
Differences can also be caused by trauma, which has resulted in deviation of the bone and outer cartilage, or perhaps because of septal deviation. Again, a little septal deviation can also be normal.
If you are not sure, it is definitely worth seeing a board certified (GMC registered) plastic surgeon who can have a look and advise you what your options are.
Common Deviated Septum Symptoms
The symptoms can vary
Aug 7, 2018
Depending on how bad the deviation is, you might notice no symptoms, or you might have severe difficulty breathing through your nose on one or both sides.
A mild deviation might not have any significant effect on breathing, there might be a very subtle difference in air entry from one side to the other – but keep in mind that a little difference is very normal, and it changes from one side to the other as the day goes along!
A moderate deviation might block just one side and a more…
How Long Does a Broken Nose Take to Heal?
Noses take a long time to heal in general – this is important to know
Aug 7, 2018
A broken nose can take several months to completely heal – bones take longer to heal than most of the body.
This is important to know, particularly if you are thinking of having surgery to fix a broken nose.
There are 2 potential timings for surgery after breaking the nose – either straight away, when the tissues are still ‘raw’, or after several months, once things are settled.
Having surgery immediately also depends – it is not always possible to fix a broken nose straight away,…
Will brusing on nipples go away too? I didn’t know they could bruise
Nipples can bruise very easily
May 31, 2018
Thanks for the question – yes, nipples bruise very easily if they are operated on, but the good news is that this usually settles quickly.
The nipple skin is much thinner compared to the rest of the breast skin, so even the slightest bruising shows up, very quickly. But, for the same reason, this also settles quickly.
But, if you have any doubts, please make sure you see your surgeon as soon as possible.
