Hi – Were these polyurethane coated implants? You cannot judge them at this early stage. They will always be much better as time passes.
I use many of the polyurethane coated implants – and I think they take over a year to become soft and at their best. Normal silicone implants can settle much quicker.

Capsular Contracture and Polyurethane coated implants

Hi Kathy.
Over the first 10 years or so after surgery- Polyurethane coated implants seem to have a 20X lower rate of capsular contracture. I started using them around four years ago- in patients with a history of contracture problems. I have now been using them on all patients for the past 3 years and have been really pleased with them.
These are like normal implants inside (a silicone bag filled with cohesive silicone gel) but have a layer foam on the outside.

Hi Firstly, I always tell me patients not to worry about size or shape or asymmetry early after surgery. You get yourself all stressed and worried, when, in the end, things generally work out right. Truth is, there is actually very little swelling after a breast augmentation. Yes, they may seem full and big and high and tight. Sleeping upright makes it a little difficult to roll over onto your side, which may be uncomfortable, and is usually what we like to avoid early after surgery.I generally say 2 weeks, after which you can sleep in whatever position is more comfortable for you.Good luck.

Hi. That is probably the muscle edge which is a little tight. You really do not need to worry about that at this stage. I ask my patients to try not to worry about these things at least for 6 weeks after surgery. It is unnecessary stress and anxiety, and things change a lot during this time.Rippling occurs later when everything has softened, and is usually in the upper part of the cleavage.

Hi. What you have is unfortunately the most common problem after tummy tuck surgery- it is wound breakdown.You need to see your consultant, as there are some early things they may consider doing which may speed up the healing process.  That area will break down and become messy and oozy. It is a bit scary and difficult for you but we see these things often and can look after you and the wound.
