What would you advise the best option to be for my uneven eyelids and eyebrows?
Eyelid ptosis with brow asymmetry
Sep 10, 2020

HiThe correct diagnosis is difficult from just your picture, is it does look as if you have a bilateral upper eyelid ptosis together with an asymmetric upper eyelid crease. From the angle that the picture has been taken there does appear to be some eyebrow asymmetry, but this could eb a result of the eyebrow make-up that’s been used.
There is however a definite asymmetry in the lids with much more pre-tarsal eyelid show in your left eye. I would want to know if you have had any toxin in t…

How much does one have to pull on the eyelids for it to cause significant saggi
Interesting question.

Sep 10, 2020
HiYou pose an interesting question. Pulling the skin and heating it with brow treatments such as waxing, plucking and electrolysis can over time, impact on the quality of the skin. The technique to prevent damage with plucking is to hold the skin taught and this generally makes the procedure more comfortable. I would suspect the bleeding is more due to thick hair follicles breaking out of the skin. A face to face consultation would be needed to see how heavy your lids are and whether this is…

Combination surgery with crease reformation
Sep 10, 2020
Sep 10, 2020
Hi Chloe
In pictures one and three it looks as if your symptoms are caused by the shape of your orbit and the position of your soft tissues, and the solution would be a bilateral brow repositioning together with upper eyelid blepharoplasty and skin crease reformation surgery. The skin crease Reformation will take the weight out of your upper eyelids, and give you a defined crease, treating the low position of the skinfold over your eyelash line. This deals with the intrinsic problem in the…

Can I make my eyes look better? How could I make my eyes and eyebrows look like
Combination surgery may be your answer
Sep 10, 2020
Sep 10, 2020
Hi GiornoIn the picture of how you are now, you appear to have a more projected, and more prominent orbit (the skeleton of the face in which the eyeball sits), and your eye is further forward on your right than the left. This makes the position of the eyebrow and the relative balance of the upper and lower eyelids to the eye a little asymmetric.
The second picture of how you would like to appear suggests that you would prefer a little more symmetry.
It is possible to achieve a more symmetric…

Heavy Lids
Sep 10, 2020
Sep 10, 2020
Hi HaroonFrom your pictures it appears that you have a heavy masculine brow and this is impacting on the lids. In clinic we would determine if this is a result of ageing or hereditary factors. We have to be careful when performing male blepharoplasty and endobrow surgery (raising the eyebrows) as too much lifting and eyelid definition can feminise the face and completely change your appearance and not necessary for the better. In skilled hands these surgeries on male patients can make a…

Your problem is not with the brow height.

Hi yiqun
Your desire for a more ‘western upper lid’ shape is a common request and I treat a lot of Oriental – Asian patients for this procedure in my practice. Your problem is not brow height and to lift them further would have little result in the lid and would only make you look a bit ‘surprised’. From your pictures you look young and the skin looks healthy so I would suggest that in an experts hands who treats lots of Asian eyelids, an ‘open’ double fold upper blepharoplasty with skin c…

What are the best ways to get rid of multiple upper eyelid creases/folds?
to create a single fold upper lid – Asian or Caucasian…

Thank you for posting the question some time ago, yet as it is often asked in my clinic I thought to respond. The dominant fold of the upper lid is generated by an anatomical connection from the lifting muscle of the eyelid (levator) to the skin. This natural feature is common in Caucasian lids, and often absent in Sino – Asian lids, where there is no upper lid crease, and no fold or a very low fold is the result. Multiple folds occur when there is no discrete…
