I would estimate the majority of the swelling resolves within 6 weeks, but it can take up to 6 months to be certain about your final size. Radiotherapy continues to affect healing results and mastectomy and implant reconstruction tends to have suboptimal outcomes, especially in the longer term. I would recommend reconstruction using your own tissue and avoiding implants.
